To those of you drinking tonight

Just a little wake up call. DO NOT DRIVE.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...123100491.html

I'm not sure if anyone heard, but outside of Toledo, OH, a drunk driver in a pick up truck tore an Astrovan in half early this morning. Killed one female adult, two ten year old girls, one seven year old girl, one six month old girl. Left one ten year old girl in critical condition, and serious injuries to one male adult and one eight year old boy.

That was a picture taken last Christmas. Most are dead now, except for the man in the middle (Danny), the boy at the top (Brett, who wasn't in the van), the boy on the right (Beau), and the girl on the bottom left (Sidney, who is in critical condtion). Take a long look at the next picture, Vadi Griffin, born just 6 months ago.

Dead. This is my wife's aunt and children. The little girl center front is Lacey Griffin, my wife's god daughter. They live up the street from me, and I have been babysitting all of them for the past eight years since I met my wife.

A drunk driver killed them, and he has minor injuries. I won't torture you with the pictures of the accident or of the child car seat sitting in the middle of the highway.

Please, don't drink and drive this holiday, or ever. We are going to have to bury children in the next week while this son of a bitch lives in a prison cell for, hopefully, the rest of his life.

Rest In Peace Beth, Haley, Lacey, and Jordan. You were taken too soon from my family.

I do not understand why people do not understand the consequences of drinking and driving. Thats all I constantly hear now as the cause of accidents. It seems the more they educate the worse it has gotten.

Very sorry for your loss. No words can describe this tragedy.

I don't understand why drinking and driving isn't a more penalized issue. Some guy killed a family of 4 near me about 2 years ago and got a month.

I think if you get caught drinking and driving, it should be like crack, 5 years, no negotiations. If you kill somebody, you get life. 2-3 people, death penalty eligible.

I agree, but it should be stronger than crack. Without getting too political, the laws for Crack are ridiculous. That said, drunk driving directly harms other innocent people, therefore should have an even greater consequence than other crimes.

Its sad that, in order to be reminded not to drink and drive, it takes stories and pictures like this. Even though I didn't know Millennium's family, the story still hits home and hurts the same.

Be safe tonight everyone. I'll be on a plane to LA. lol.

Man, reading stories like this are like a kick in the gut. So sorry to hear this happened. Why does it always seem like the idiot doing the drunk-driving always survives and the innocent people are the ones to die?

Oh, on a side-note: The person who commented about the crack laws - that recently changed. I believe the Supreme Court recently voted that crack get treated just like cocaine (as it should have been all along).

That's the thing. I believe most people do understand the consequences. They either just don't care, or carry on as though it will never happen to them.
