Re: So Who Else Doesn't do the Flesh Thing

I congratulate the OP. Stuff like this make me think he's making a good call:

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/01/30/und...deo/index.html

I can't watch the video because these things upset me for days at a time after seeing them. I understand we're not dealing with society's best people that work these jobs and their job is horrific, but if we can't get it together enough to treat these animals in a decent way so that our health isn't at risk, we need to come up with a different way to do this.

Dude you actually hit it on the head.. a girl was a big part of opening my eyes to different ideas.. but I was very very reluctant to buy into them. Eventually I did start to adopt them into my lifestyle, but I'm proud to say that I chose it on my own.

Anyway, I would hope you at least read the article that was posted, and then you can think whatever you want.
Its always about a girl. Always.

My main concern: I'm pretty "muscular" and I'm fearing that I'll get skinny. Obviously I weight train to stay fit, for those who practice this lifestyle, I'll be fine right?

Also, any tips? One of my veggy friends said she takes an iron supplement and suggested I do the same, and a multi vitamin. I understand for men my age [19-51], the daily allowance for iron is 8 mg. So should I be taking a pill with a little less than that? Also with the multi vitamin, any advice on how much dosage should be in it? And any other tips as well?

I've done my fair share of research, but I'd like to get some personal responses as well.
I did a form of this last year. I went a year and a half not eating chicken, turkey, red meat. The only meat I would eat was fish. I never lost any weight, but I did feel lighter on my feet if that makes any sense. I decided to end it because it was too difficult for me to continue. Good luck to you though. I would buy alot of the frozen vegan and vegetarian meats, soups, snacks, etc.

Definitely. Still haven't though. Like I said, I actually decided this purely on my own haha, though she first introduced the idea.

That's good to hear you never lost weight Texas. I have no ill effects yet as far as loss of energy to weight train.

One of my reasons for stopping was the lack of weight loss to be honest with you. But I have always flirted with starting back and watching more closely the fat intake as well which is furthur restriciting. And for the record, mine was non female influenced. My wife thought I had lost it.

I don't particularly mean only cattle, but animals in general. Animals are meant to be eaten...after all, they eat each other, LOL! If I don't eat them, they'll get eaten by something else!!!
