Well that doesn't seem like it would effect you significantly. The best (and only) advice I can give is to speak to an attorney over this. Parents can be forced to pay for college, this is pretty well settled. That being said I know absolutely nothing about Pennsylvania law so maybe your state goes another way on this.

Honestly though if you go to a CC and get good grades you'll be able to get a lot of scholarship money down the road.

I just had some Diet Pepsi Caramel something and it was really good! I had it with my 85% Lindt Chocolate and it was a very nice dessert.

I just got 3 really old westerns from an uncle of mine (well not really an uncle but I known him all my life) Too bad he gave them to me at the worst time ever. I won't even want to watch TV at all for the next few days at least

I've been so ****ing busy... done with Web 2 and Physics... Calc 3 is hopefully done, and then that just leaves International Studies, which should be easy, and C/UNIX, which is going to suck hard, especially since it's an 8 am on Wednesday.

Why not? Their income will be held against you when you apply for financial aid.

Yet I know someone in a similar situation (different, but a lot of similarities) that's going out of state and apparently got a lot of financial aid and won't have any problems affording it. Some people have said that if I had to pay more than half of full tuition, they'd be surprised, yet I have some people saying I'll be lucky to get $5,000 total.

Anyone know which is more accurate?
Financial aid, at least in Illinois consist of Federal Pell Grants, State money via MAP(Monetary Assistance Program), and school money via scholarships, and grants, and loans.
The way it worked for me was I got 5 grand in federal money, 4.5 in state map, 4.5 in school money, and the rest in loans. Not counting loans I got about 2/3 of tuition paid in Financial Aid money.

By now you should have already applied for FASFA, and received a notice from your schools of what you qualified for.

I just filed it on the 27th so I haven't gotten anything back yet.

Turns out my psychotic mother applied me to a school (that I hate) behind my back. Classy.

I'm starting to get sick of your complaining. You GET to go to college. Do you realize how lucky you really are? There are probably about 3 billion people (if not more) that would kill to be in your position. YOU LIVE IN THE RICHEST COUNTRY ON THE PLANET. You get to have clean water, clothes, medical care, a roof over your head. Go to Africa and see how people live there and then come back and complain about your life. You are so blessed to get to continue your education, but you are going to complain because you were lazy in school and got some bad grades, so now you aren't getting as much scholarship money as you think you "deserve." So now you don't have complete freedom on where you GET TO GO TO COLLEGE. College isn't a right, it's a privilege. If you really, really, really want to go to a certain school, then get a job and pay for it. Otherwise, suck it up and be happy that you weren't born in Darfur.

THERE AREN'T SCHOLARSHIPS IN MOTHER-****ING AFRICA.
