****, seriously...

Went to a party with a few of my friends last night. We were one of the first people there so we walked in and met all the people who lived there. Then went out onto the porch, cracked a beer, smoked a bowl, and within ten minutes I had no idea what their names were anymore.

Oh well.

Been there. Done that.

I've forgotten so many names so far this year.

I was trying to imply that we were all drunk, which is why we didn't remember anyone's names...

As for the tuition, like I said already I only had to pay 10% of it, which is like $900.

I don't just go around and introduce myself to people, I'm more reserved. My feeling is that if people want to meet me bad enough, they'll come to me.

I don't get where you get all this "whining" and "complaining" from...It's not like I gave a bull**** answer for why I left. Are you guys really that desperate to find reasons to hate me?

If they don't know who you are, they definatly don't want you. That's why you have to put yourself out there.

Awesome. I feel like crap now and I won't be able to do anything tonight. Hopefully I'll be better by tomorrow since its my b-day. I really want to do something tomorrow since its a full day off.

You think people are just going to line up outside your dorm room door waiting to meet you? You actually have to go out and socialize to meet people. That's how college works.

You aren't going to accomplish anything just sitting in your dorm and hoping that people ask you to go to parties with them.

Seriously, i'm like you. I'm very reserved in person. I'm surprised that in my one year of college I actually met and had somewhat of a friendship with a girl of all things.

See, I met a girl, but some guy completely ruined it. We were talking and everything was going good, she asked me if I had a girlfriend and crap like that, then all of a sudden this guy comes up to me and he's like "dude you're doing really good, you're going to get laid in no time"...she was like "wow" and left. Bad times.

My mom is really pissing me off lately...

Throughout my life she's played the role of unnecessarily overprotective parent and wants to know everything I'm doing at all times. She also seems to think that although I'm 2 weeks short of 18 years old, I'm not smart/capable enough to make my own decisions, and she wants to make them for me or wants me to pick the decision that best benefits her. For example, college...

She's always wanted me to go in state, and the only valid reason given is that it's cheaper, which is true, but in reality I'm paying for a vast majority of tuition/fees/etc., so it's not as big of a concern to her as it should be to me. Not to mention because she's a single parent I'm sure I'll get hooked up with grants and stuff like that which will bring the cost down a decent amount. She's been overly obsessed with one college in PA (Millersville), a place which I've told her since we visited in July I hated and couldn't see myself there for 4 years. When we visited BGSU a few weeks ago, she compared EVERYTHING to Millersville. Either that or she nitpicked any minor flaw she could about the town of Bowling Green (which was pretty nice IMO and is a slightly bigger version of Bloomsburg).

I've been accepted into BGSU since early March and already sent in my housing deposit and was under the assumption that I was going there, no worries. Of course, she throws a monkey wrench into the situation and F's it all up. She now says that I shouldn't/am not allowed to go because the drive is too long. Last time I checked, I'm making the drive. She has to do it two more times this summer, once for orientation and then for moving day, so basically because the drive is inconvienient for her, I can't go. Then, she outright refuses to co-sign my student loans because BGSU is all of a sudden too expensive. Why would you wait until freaking April to drop this on me? She'll also gladly co-sign for an in-state school, yet the difference isn't THAT much.

BGSU: $20,000 a year not including books, etc.
PA State System schools: $13,000 a year not including any of that also

Not only that, but she hasn't gotten all the tax information around to finish my FAFSA forms, so all the loan/grant money isn't factored in. She's assuming that I'm not going to find a job out of college and am guaranteed to default on my loans, and will only let me go to BG if I find someone else to co-sign, and I shouldn't have to because it's not their responsibility. So basically, because of her, I'm screwed over. The only in-state school I want to go to is Penn State, but my grades aren't near good enough to get in. The other ones I've seen I've hated and don't want to go there, especially not to please her. The whole situation is ridiculous and completely unfair to me, especially considering the timing of this. I want to break something.

I can already see you posting in a year about how miserable you are at Bowling Green.

Community College isn't that bad, dude.

The thing is, though, I can't. When I went there (albeit it was only for two days), I loved it. Don't have anything bad to say about it. Nice area, lots of things to do, campus was nice, big, everything. I've grown out of my homesickness stage and I feel like I need my space. It doesn't hurt that my one friend is going to BG also, and while I'm sure we won't be around each other all the time, we'll still communicate. I just think it's a little unfair for my family to use slippery slope and assume that I'm going to go and hate it and that all this bad stuff is going to happen. I don't think asking for a chance to prove those statements wrong is asking for too much.

Combine all that whining about not being able to go to BG with you recently leaving BG because you didn't like it, yeah, we're gonna be on your case.

They'll remember your face. Trust me. I've helped with rush for 3 years. While I won't remember but 2 or 3 names the next day, I'll remember a face.

Noone is going to want meet anyone that badly, unless said person is a hot girl or a girl with a hot body. And you're a guy, so you don't qualify for the "ahh they'll come to me" thing. You gotta go out and meet people. If you don't want to do the fraternity thing, no biggie. Find a couple guys and hang out with them. They'll introduce you to more people at parties and then those people will introduce you to people.

It is a bs answer. Just come out and say you don't want to go away to college. That's a very valid answer. Going away for college isnt for everyone. Probably 1 out of every 10 college bound students goes away to college.
