    Re: OS Off Topic

Spurs - Been playing great after their piss-poor start (without TP & Manu). 2nd in the West, and lost in the Conference Finals last year.

Toros - Good record last year, but like all minor league teams... had to face the music of losing our best players to NBA benches. This year we are off to a terrific start again. A few farm team callups to my beloved Spurs... Blake Ahearn, Ian Mahinmi, Malik Hairston, Anthony Tolliver, and hopefully Marcus Williams soon. He's a beast.

Yankees - Missed the Playoffs, but just got C.C., A.J., and Teixeira... champs soon baby!

Jets - Much better than last year and a lot of that has to do with Favre, but I think he is the biggest reason why we couldn't crack the playoffs this year. Too many mistakes.

Albany Patroons - On the verge of shutting down operations. The CBA is in shambles, and their team sucked last year. Attendance has been way down ever since Jamario Moon left.

Tri-City Valley Cats - Sucked last year, but it was cool to see our 3B David Flores win the All-Star Game MVP at the Joe (Home field). Phil Disher also had 13 homers and 56 RBI's in 71 games.

I can't sleep and it's getting irritating. I've already done the classic go to sleep moves *cough* and nothing is working.

            Re: OS Off Topic

            Let's see:

Atlanta Braves - Lost 4 of 5 in the starting rotation for the year, trade Teix after trading the farm for him this year, lose out on Peavy, Burnett, AND Furcal even though all three were basically "sealed deals", no depth, no relevance, no direction, nothing.

Phoenix Suns - Got rid of our glue in Marion, got rid of our heart in Bell, got rid of our identity in D'Antoni. Lost to the Spurs in an embarrassing series, Kerr hijacked the team, Sarver doesn't spend too much. Oh, and they brought in a guy who was a major source of hatred in me, Shaquille O'Neal. No relevance, no direction, nothing.

Houston Texans - Hurricane blew the roof of our joint and ruined the season from the start. Started 0-4, Rosencopter blew a game in which we had a lead of 17 with 5 minutes to ago. Could have been 2-2 after four. Then won three straight, then lost three, then won four, and split the last two. We had more turnovers than a ****in' bakery. 8-8 is ok, but this team should have been 10-6 and possibly even 11-5. Our offense looks legit, but we need some f'n defense.

Fresno State Football - Started out great, lost to Wisconsin, never really recovered, went 7-5 and lost a bowl game. Meh.

WVU Football - Disappointing, but 9-4 isn't bad.

WVU Basketball - 28 point win over #15 Ohio State this week to move to 10-2. This young team appears to be coming together.

San Antonio Spurs - With Manu back, the team is improving and now has the #2 seed in the West.

Carolina Panthers - After sucking for two straight years, the Panthers finish 12-4 with a first-round by in the NFL Playoffs.

Red Sox/Rays - I would say things are going pretty well in my baseball department, though baseball isn't really high on my priority list as far as sports go. I love attending baseball games in person (I've seen the Rays many times in person), but it just isn't the same on TV IMO.

Jeff Gordon - Sometimes it appears that he may make another run at a championship, but it doesn't look likely. After winning four championships from 1996-2001, he's gone championship-less since then and had zero wins this past year, the first time that has happened since his rookie year. Still, I'd say it's pretty likely that he'll move into the #2 spot in career wins by career's end.

My wife's cousin's son (yeah, can't say it differently) had his Bar Mitzvah ceremony this morning. They told us to be there at 8:30, but they came there themselves at almost 9:00 and started it at 9:30. At 10:30 my wife signalled me to meet her outside, so we pretty much escaped quietly. We told her parents that we need to get to work, though we took the day off, because we didn't want to spend hours at the synagogue. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I hate weeks with a holiday on Thursday, makes no real sense not to take a 4 day weekend.

Just found out that 200 people are losing their jobs where I work. I'm lucky, I get to go back on the 12th of January although I have to go to the graveyard shift. WOW. I'm a little nervous about things.

Well, keeping with the sports teams theme.

                              1. Philadelphia Flyers (NHL) -- We're pretty good and always have been. I'm looking for a deep playoff run.
                              2. Buffalo Bills (NFL) -- Well, it was fun at first. We sucked after the first 6 games. But at least they gave me that excitement. That's more then they've done in a long time.
                              3. Cincinnati Reds (MLB) -- Ugh... disappointment after disappointment. We can't seem to build off our limited success. We're stucked on those 70ish wins forever.
                              4. Boston College Eagles (NCAA) -- Not too big of an NCAA fan, but the football team was pretty good this year. Had a chance to win the ACC if I'm not mistaken. But losing Matt Ryan and still contending, that was cool.
                              5. New Orleans Hornets (NBA) -- I'm an extremely minor NBA fan, but I've liked the Hornets since the NBA Jam days (when they were in Charlotte). We had a good breakout year last year and we're on pace again with an 18-9 record so I can't complain. Chris Paul is one of the best players in the NBA.
                              NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
                              NFL - Buffalo Bills
                              MLB - Cincinnati Reds
