Dorms are different. This is called me thinking my roommate is at work and I'm going on a 30 minute run. It's in the middle of the day and HIGHLY unlikely anybody would try and rob us.

With that said I'm taking a key and locking up on every run from now on.

Yeah, I understand why you did it. I'm not saying you were in the wrong, just stating what I would do.

Even though it is your home, don't think it's safe. I know it sucks to think about it, but someone could watch you and know your schedule. They might know when you go for runs, and when they see you leave, they could try to get in. It's unlikely that will ever happen, but it's not unheard of. Especially if you have enemies or people know you've got a lot of money.

But even then, as you said, your sliding door doesn't work. So even if you did leave it locked, they can still get in. I'd probably get that fixed ASAP, by the way.

I just don't trust people to have the morality to not steal from me. I personally know people who will screw you over in a heartbeat, just to benefit themselves. In the dorms, I have to make sure I don't put money through the wash, as there are kids who open the washer/dryer doors and take any money that is left in there.

One time in college my roommates and I were headed off to a party. Walked down our stairs into the parking lot to head out and looked back and realized our door to the apartment was wide open (you can see our door from the street). For some reason, we were too lazy to walk up the stairs to shut the door so we just said "F*** it" and walked away. God we were so lucky we didn't get robbed.

In other news, long distance relationships suck.

Damn snow.

My friend, that just got herself a new (used) car, just got in accident. I feel so bad for her, she was so excited about her new car. She literally got it days ago. And now it's gonna need to be in a shop for a decent bit. I like the snow and all, but damn sometimes can it be a *****.
