I would've lost over $2000 worth of things today if it weren't for the cops. I swear it was like a damn movie. All it took was a little *whoop whoop" of the siren and these guys took off running the other way. As I picked up my keys (I had begun to empty out my right pocket first, since the iPod and wallet were in my left) two girls walked by and one of them said "Were you just getting robbed?" Of course not! I just let men on the street randomly frisk me at will
. I ignored her and headed to the next block and hopped in a cab.So, my streak is over. People talk about New York and how it's known for its crime but that's the first time I've ever been in that type of situation. Although all they took was my pen (not sure if he even meant to take it, guess he just held on to it as he ran away), it was still a somewhat frightening experience. Now that I think about it what I did was incredibly stupid (not listening and emptying out my pockets), as I could've been seriously hurt.
