I like to leave the chambermaid at a hotel $10 per day. They have a hard job that nobody envies.

Re: GUYS, What is your Perspective on Tipping
I leave toenail clippings in the bed sheets and floor.
Spoiler
In all seriousness though, I've never tipped at hotels. When we rented condos or cabins we've always tipped like $10-20 (depending on the stay/ amount of people), but never at a hotel.

Re: GUYS, What is your Perspective on Tipping
I'm talking about at a nice hotel in Vegas, or the Waldorf Astoria in NYC (I'm staying there this coming Wednesday through Saturday) for multiple nights. Not a random Best Western for a single night.
Also, different people clean the room each day so leaving one big tip at the end won't necessarily put the money in the proper hands.Comment

Re: GUYS, What is your Perspective on Tipping
If a person makes at least minimum wage, is it necessary to tip them?
Like the jars at these coffee shops and such - I don't get it?Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

I guess I assumed they pool them. Hm, might have to re-consider my method here.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 08-07-2015, 03:54 PM.Comment

If I can extend the application they're using elsewhere, I should put a tip jar on my desk at work each time I send a report out or fulfill a data request.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

My method is pretty simple. If she's a 9 or a 10 she gets a tip (yes I know the joke here and it's not my intention) and that's it.Comment

Re: GUYS, What is your Perspective on Tipping
Exactly. Woman I work with has one on her desk, more as a joke than anything. She's got maybe a dollar or two in it. It usually winds up as spare change when someone is getting something from the drink or snack machines.
And people tip me with milkshakes in summer and cookies in winter. I've probably had cookies made for me about 5 times at work in less than 2 years. And we aren't talking premade cookie dough. These are homemade, the real deal!Comment
