I got married last November. I'm 32 and we've been together for 2 years. We moved together after 8 months and I knew she was the one. I had quite a few relationships (long and short) and I knew that this time this is it. Thankfully she felt the same way. Who knew life can be so good (except for work, but u can't have it all)?

Ahhh, it's great to see happy people. Recently, a lot of relationships have fallen apart around us, but we're as happy as ever. It's a good life today.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: Being in love
Stuff can change in an instant, bro. Girls are freaking nuts too... as far as I can tell, all of them are.
For your sake, I hope it doesn't. I hope no one has to go through what TONS of others and I have had to go through with break-ups. But it could happen.
P.S. College changes everything... just be ready. Especially if you're going to different schools.Originally posted by DaImmaculateONeHow many brothers does Sub-zero running around in his clothing? No one can seem to kill the right one.Comment

Re: Being in love
I'm kind of late to the party but for me, my first love happened during the summer after I graduated high school. I met this really sweet hotty at the beach one day and we talked for at least three hours that day but for whatever reason (because I'm stupid I guess) we didn't exchange phone numbers. I was kicking myself (figuratively speaking) daily for letting this girl get away without getting her number.
About a week later, I was at a local mall when out of nowhere I felt a soft hand on my shoulder and heard the words, "Hey you". I spin around to see my beach beauty standing right in front of me. Before I could I say anything, she reached out and gave me a really big hug and said the words that will live with me forever, "OMG, I thought I'd never see you again!!!!" After spending the rest of the day together, we became inseperable (sp???). I can't remember a day that summer that we weren't together. During a weekend trip to Chicago (about two weeks after we reconnected at the mall) I realized that I really loved this girl!!! While taking a horse drawn carriage ride in downtown Chicago, I shared my feelings with her and she very quickly reciprocated with the same response. The rest of the summer was a whirlwind romance - the stuff movies are made of.
Toward the end of the summer, she had to leave the area because her father became very ill and he lived in California. She had to move there to be with him. I'll never forget the night she told me, the girl was straight up crying hysterically because of her mixed emotions of needing to leave but not wanting to leave what we had. I tried to be strong but damn that was hard to let her go!!!
We kept in touch for about a month or two but we had decided to take things down to a friend level because it was getting hard emotionally. Over time, we just kind of grew apart and stopped talking. It just kind of ended without any bad feelings between us
About a year later, I started college and ended up meeting the girl that I ended up marrying who by the way haunts me almost on a daily basis now (post divorce)!!!!! After cheating on me twice during our marriage and pulling some dirty games concerning our kids after the divorce, she has single handedly destroyed my opinion of women as a whole.
Back to the beach girl, she got hold of me through a common friend about eight years ago. I spoke to her briefly and found out that she had been married as well but that they were having problems. At the time, I was still happily married and she just kind of disappeared after that.
Recently I've been thinking about that first love again. This girl was amazing and I truly believe that she was and still is my soul mate. I have tried to locate her but thus far haven't been able to. She's no longer at the last number where we last spoke......DAMN !!!!

Re: Being in love
That's great. Gives younger people like me a hope that yes, you can find someone you love while you're young (in HS) and be with them for a long while. Today marks my 1.5 years with my girlfriend and we have an extremely solid relationship and have gone through a lot already. We aren't perfect, we accept each other's faults, we get in arguments from time to time, but we have never gotten into that HS drama BS. And now that we're both out of HS, we shouldn't have to worry about that.

Re: Being in love
you make it sound like its that bad getting head on a regular basis. i don't gotta worry about std's because we've only been with each other. how many mofo's can say that they found the right one on the first try? i'm not offended by what your saying...i'm just trying to let you know that the way your degrading it isn't all that bad.Comment

Re: Being in love
I wouldn't say he was degrading it, just being honest....you hit a homerun on your first at-bat, congrats
I was with my first gf for almost a year, and can honestly say I have never trusted anyone in my life as much as her. She was in love, but it just wasn't there for me. Ever since I've dated 3, and they've all treated me like crap.
that's the way it goes sometimes i guess....Comment

Re: Being in love
Hah, yup, we've both agreed to do this. On top of that, she's moving closer to school (I'm still 30 minutes away, we're going to the same place, a community college). So we get to see how distance between us works out. I see it as a positive, it'll be healthy to see how we deal with some adversity. I guess I'm weird like that, but whatever.

I think it's a lot of bad luck, I've never really been the type to pursue anyway....but I've kinda got my eye on one at the moment, if I could only think of what to say to her!! haComment
