I worked with LAA's Aussie pitcher Rich Thompson for a few months back in 2005/06 (Nov to Jan, then he left back for the US for spring training). He used to work part-time in the menswear section of a department store down here in Sydney. Back then he was only in the minors, but then he represented Australia at the World Baseball Classic (in 06 and/or 07) and eventually made his Angels debut last season. Good on him!

Hey buddy, little update on your boy... The Tri-City Valleycats are currently 6-8 and last in our division but that's because of untimely hitting, and our two most played pitchers have pitched pretty badly...

however, your boy is doing great...

He has thrown 9.0 innings in 4 appearances, and has compiled a 3-0 record. He has 12 K's, and his ERA and WHIP are an incredible 2.00 and 0.78 respectively. Hitters have a .069 AVG against him.

I met Tim Brando once at his radio show in NY, me and my dad were the only people that were there. It was cool, whenever he wasn't talking on his radio show he was talking to us. They had some stuff he had to shoot some commercial type things for auctions, he showed me a jersey that Babe Ruth wore to one of his all star games and got 2 home runs and a lou gehrig jersey.
My offensive line coach used to play for the Bills, his name is Jerry Ostroski. He's really cool, I know him really well. I have another coach on my football team who went to training camp with a team and played RB for Wyoming, but didn't make the team.
Hmmm...my parents met OJ Simpson at a bar once in Vail. My dad said he was talking football with him and it was pretty cool. My blond haired blue eyed mom said she was scared. It kind of sucked because I didn't go out to eat with them that night.
Oh and while we're sort of on the topic one time I saw Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz skiing at Vail, and my parents sat next to them at a restaurant that night.
I saw Scottie Pippen at his house once because my cousins live near him and drive their boat past his house when going to the ocean.

Tim Collins (Blue Jays single A starting pitcher) went to Worcester Tech which is one of my high schools rivals. I read in the paper JP whose a worcester native himself was considering giving Collins a callup. Also Keith Landers who one of my friends played little league with got drafted but opted to go to Louisville, 6-7 lefty nasty curve watchout for him.

i know ray durham because him and my uncle are like best of friends they won state in nc in like 86 or 88

and i know chris chambers (formerly of the miami dolphins now with san diego) because he was a member of the golf course i use to work at...1 time he brought lee evans to play and both signed a chambers jersey of mine
