I believe that's become such a huge story due to the fact that Edwards had previously vehemently denied the affair.

You're right, a story about a politician lying about his sex-life is much more important than a war. You know, a war in which Georgia is now trying to get the United States involved in (by having Americans airlift 2,000 Georgian soldiers from Iraq to the Russian/Georgia battlefield)?

The fact that people eat this kind of garbage [edwards] up is embarrassing. The fact that so called "journalists" would devote time to this drivel is even worse.

When I saw the headline, "Russian tanks roll through Georgia", I thought it was some historical thing and they were displaying the Russian tanks from WW1 or 2 in Georgia. Then I read the story. CNN,FOX,NBC are American news organizations, if you say Georgia, most of the readers are going to think of the state not the country. How many people actually know that there is a country named Georgia.

I agree. I saw somethning about it at 11 this morning, and when I wanted to check on the tv to see any updates later in the day, all channels were focused on Edwards. In CNN's "Situation Room", the invasion wasn't even considered a top story.

Anyone notice that during olympic ceremonies President Bush was sitting right next to Vladimir Putin, the Russian Prime Minister?

During the Olympic opening ceremonies, I saw Bush and Putin having some "not so kind" words towards each other.

This thing worries me, as I've said, because Putin is a former KGB operative as is their president. I don't know if they'll want to start reclaiming the entire former Soviet Union now. And they have much of Europe under their will since Europe gets almost half of their natural gas through a Russian pipeline.

Bingo! Let's see what the world says about this. Probably not much. Seems to be a joke with most people. Don't hear much about the Chinese in the Sudan either (the people of Darfur getting massacred with weapons provided by the Chinese-for their oil- as the "UN" standsby).

This is pretty screwed up.. Georgia has (had) troops in Iraq helping us out there and were being looked at for inclusion into NATO. I think we may even help train their troops.
