I know I'm not an OS vet or someone thats really respected here, but I really think we need a change on this site to save it from going down the wrong path.

I wish there was some more interaction in this thread from Steve or someone else with some serious pull here.

This is by far my favorite site to visit and I spend so much time here, it would really suck to lose this site due to some idiot new members.

And I really don't think we are overacting, the site has become less enjoyable lately. I really like the idea of a donator forum. Have it mirror the current forums just restricted for regular members. Most forums have this idea in place already, so why not?

It seems like the same Old OS to me.

I don't know man. In certain forums its fine. Like here and most of the Other forums, but if you leave that you mostly enter hell, mostly.

I like the idea of a donated only forum with a referal system. That way non-donaters that donaters deem quality can get in too. That would work IMO. I just don't like the idea of having non-donaters (agan lots more than just myself) have part of the forums cut off to them just because they haven't donated.

Agree...I try not to go into the Madden/NCAA forums, I tend to stick in OS Neighborhood and E&T.

I agree with that, you would just have to earn it. Which IMO you'd be all set. We would just weed out the annoying people that are cluttering the rest of OS.

I think you guys just have to learn how to deal with certain people. It is life. Sure it would be great to have a perfect site, but that wont happen. I can careless what some one say on here or to me. I am mean do we really care what some stranger think about you. I know I thought it would be cool to be with the in crowd. And I try, but I just wasn't cool enough, but as I started to realize the reason I don't fit in is I have a pride issue just like they do. I can't tell you now many times I have got into pride conflict with people on here. Right Acid?

I disagree completely. The people have gotten worse by far. They just don't post intelligently. If I'm upset about Madden sucking, my IQ doesn't drop.

I agree about the IQ not dropping but what this whole thing boils to is, this site now being linked to Madden Nation and other sites.

I may be speaking out of line here but I think in a way this is what the owners of this site want in a way.

What happens to the people that are in the almost part? That's where the problem comes with that. There are people in the almost part and I'm not talking about myself because I'll leave other people to judge that that are just as quality if not MORE quality than some of the donaters. I just thank that it wouldn't be right to deny non-donaters dev interaction just because they haven't donated. You need a better reason than that IMO. Lets just agree to disagree on that though.

I've found that OS has become less about the collegial atmosphere that it used to have while at the same time it seems to have gotten a bit more corporate what with having seeming to have quid pro quo relationship with EA. (i'm not accusing i'm just noting) Granted, OS was accused of being in bed with sega/2k for the longest time but there wasn't really the perception of it being "official".

As is often the case when things get too corporate or one seems to cozy up to industrial powers such as EA things tend to slide as the more casual folks come in thus throwing off the niche appeal the site had been known for.

Either way it doesn't bother me TOO much as I don't go into the main forums that seem to be causing these problems but it can at times filter to other areas of the site.

The idea of a donator forum would be nice, but even though its not technically a donator only forum, the OS Neighborhood kind of acts like that. You don't see any of the annoying 8 post wonders walking in here and posting crap. This is kind of like the getaway from all that.

OS Neighborhood is the best forum on here in my opinion. I think we just have a lot of temp traffic from the madden/ncaa releases. For the most part when you get down to the "other" forums it is pretty calm and laid back here. The Olympic forum has also been great, especially the women's gymnastics one.

I posted a link to this thread in the Staff Forum. Steve is going to take a look at it and think about installing a Donator's Only Forum. My suggestion to anyone who is in favor of such a thing would be to PM Steve and let him know that.

Personally, I'd be all in favor of it. I think a Donator's Only forum where ALMOST anything goes would be a fantastic addition to OS and would easily become my most visited section of the forums.

So yeah...it's in the "thinking about it" stage with Steve at the moment. We'll keep you posted on the developments...
