I have to say, the referral system would just end up being terrible I think. Unless a mod or someone had to review the person first, because then one person would lead to another and then it would end up getting to those people that make the stupid posts. Now, I just avoid those stupid posts so it doesn't bother me.

it would also lead to people campaigning to get a spot, bothering those who have the power to make "referalls" and even more whining if they dont get it

1) The ignore function.

2) The "report post" function.

3) Common sense.

I don't see why you guys are so worked up. If you see a dumb thread title (OMG OMT FIX THIS NOW!!!!11), don't click on it. If you come across a stupid post, use the ignore feature or report it. Seems simple to me.

Because it would be unfair to those who aren't referred who make good posts. What if you weren't a person chosen to get access to the forum but 100 other non-donators did? (hypothetical)

It could start even more fighting and the like. (not saying you would fight, but this would happen)

Having it be strictly to donators would simplify things and then having a short leash for all persons in the donator lounge would ensure that only the well behaved stay.

Finally someone who actually gives a reason why it would be so bad.

If you are a quality poster I'd think that at least 1 person that donated would recommend you. The boards aren't that huge. If not then maybe you could pm a mod and have them do a review of your posts and judge that.

Like I said previously, I would like to have a place where there is no clutter that devs could visit. How often do threads get locked where devs visit because of all the bs that gets posted?

Exactly my point.

A place where discussions about improving games could be gone about maturely and arguing can be done in a civil manner would be great IMO.

And yes having to not sift through 87 threads that are exactly the same would be another nice feature.

We would just make it replicate the current forum, just limit it to donators. The devs would probably still go there, seeing they wouldn't have to deal with the BS of the regular forum.

I was hoping that there would be some sort of dev feedback section! Hey I can hope, right? If the donator section only has one general place to post then that would not even be worth it. There needs to be subsections like I previously said.

Personally, I think it's a stupid idea and would just make the forum look worse (in terms of image, not looks wise).

I used to be thousands above you though, but my posting has really dropped off. It's just not the same since the merger. I miss the closeness the regs had back in the day.
