Yeah the death penalty will always be one of those hot topics. I found out it is more expensive to kill someone as it is to jail them for life. Mostly because of the on going courts they go through.

This "abused as a child" BS is such a cop out. Seriously, who hasn't gotten knocked around a little bit as a kid?

Hell, when I was in kindergarten I thought it would be funny to moon the class for show and tell. Yeah it was hilarious and all good until I got sent to the office and had to call my dad and explain what happened. When he got home he whipped me (bare assed) with a belt until I pleaded for mercy. Know what? I never killed any small animals, I never became a bully, I never got off on snuff films, and I never cut myself, but I DID learn to keep my pants up and not make a mockery out of my teachers activities.

Fast forward a few years when I was taught to cuss on the playground. We were on the way to church of all places when I called my younger brother a c**ksucker (which I had actually heard from my grandfather) and was promptly punched, yes punched right in the face from my mother. Again, nothing resulted from that except me learning what to say and what not to say.

And don't even get me started about the kneeling on rocks garbage. I could go out and shoot someone now and plead a case of childhood abuse, but I'd rather sit here, be prepared for my last year of college, pet my dog and love and respect my parents.

Sure you rose above it, but some have been through so heavy things. I am not saying it is right, but it does have some truth it. You are talking about a whipping. I am talking about some torture as a kid. People that do things like he did, some times had that done to them as kids. I can't tell you all the horror story I have heard when I was in the police academy before I drop out.

Where your ever tied up and rape? Where you ever torture with an iron? The things that happen to you were bad and wrong, especially the punch, but don't compare them to things I am talking about. Most child molester were molested as kids. I am not saying it gives them a free pass, but you can see why they do what they do.

I don't know about all of you guys, but I sure as hell enjoy when criminals are executed. One less son of a bitch in this world that we have to worry about.

            Me too man, me too.

People act as though its in cold blood or something. Criminals are given a trial and are judged by their peers, which is a hell of a lot more than their victims get. So forgive me if I don't feel pity or saddened because a man's peers decided that the only suitable punishment for his crimes is death.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: "The devil is here boy, the devil himself"

              Wait, I'm confused.

I gave my example of an execution and I clearly stated that I wanted it done that way because I would hope this sick bastard will feel how his victims felt and would in some way feel what he did was wrong. That is clearly why I said these guys need to feel how their victims felt.

And I was hit with "What does that do?"

But now, we are being put down because we are getting "enjoyment" out of putting these guys to death.

But I know that's not what I said. I never said I would get enjoyment out of it. I said specifically I want these nutballs to feel like their victims felt and hope they will feel a sense of remorse and guilt right before they get crushed. That they will, for a split second, feel that what they did was wrong.

This is not for enjoyment at all.

              So which way is it?

While a lot of criminals claim abuse, very little is actually documented prior to the person being charged with a crime. When you see things like "90% of people convicted for sexual assault were abused as children" you have to take it with a grain of salt because the general idea is that claiming abuse will get you lighter prison time. One of my criminology teachers did a big thing on this, saying that IIRC only somewhere of 10-20% of the abuse claims had any evidence.

I don't know, but you had to learn it from some where. Most people that are abused become abuser too. That is what I was taught in my classes, but that was a while ago. Maybe it changed.

Hasn't changed. They still have a high chance of turning into one.

That's what you're taught in like, Health class and Law and Order. Maryland is supposedly the school for criminology, and since the classes are easy and I love the Ghostface and Raekwon song, I took a few classes, and one professor said that it is more of a copout to lower sentencing than truth.

I disagree. Sure there is some truth that, but I have seen a lot of cases where that is not true. Lets just disagree to disagree.

Everyone is different and that's just the way it is. That's why it is good to go by a case-by-case basis instead of a whole generalization.
