You are a fine young man, Bro. I don't even know you and I respect you not becasue of your disability, but because of your great attitude and for working with the youth, may God bless you.

I must say I've really enjoyed reading this thread this morning with my cup of joe. I think everyone should post something. Very interesting and heart warming to see some of the guys and their families (and how they love them) and hear their stories.

Me, old guy addicted to baseball like a kid. Traditional conservative and patriot who gives my time to feed the homeless on Saturdays, Wounded Warrior contributor, love my country and have the greatest wife in the world (along with the rest of you, lol). She looks a hundred years younger than me, but that's a gene thing (actually 13 years younger). Been married almost 20 years.

Have worked all my life before retiring in 2002. Played in a rock 'n roll band for about 4 years, Army, Vietnam (4 years), worked as an auditor, Security Manager for the Navy Exchange and then a cop. Wrote a book....."you did?"....."yeah, how'd you know?"....lol.

I'll be checking in on this thread to read all the interesting stories that go with the faces and avatars. Nice.

Hi, my name is Mike and I'm a 32 year old OS-aholic... I don't post a lot, but I definitely do a lot of reading here. A little about me. I'm originally from Elizabeth, PA (south of Pittsburgh) and I now live in Hopkinton, MA (just west of Boston). I've also lived in Lake Mary, FL and State College, PA. I have an electrical engineering degree from Penn State and an MBA from Boston College.

I moved to the Boston area in '99, figured I'd give it a year, met my wife and I'm still here. My wife and I worked for the same company, and we met through mutual friends. We still do not have kids, and nor do we plan to. But we did just adopt a 2-year old beagle - our first pet!

As for my sports allegiances, I'm a die-hard Steelers, Pirates (yes, the Pirates) and Pens fan. I'm also one of the few Penn State fans who is also a Pitt fan (except when they play each other - PSU fan). Since moving to Boston, I've adopted the Sox as the team I follow once the Bucs are eliminated in April. As for basketball, I like the Celtics and the Magic. And for college sports, PSU, Pitt, and BC. I'm a BC football season ticket holder and I'm also splitting a basketball season ticket with a friend this season.

I came here looking for info on Madden, and have stayed ever since. It's a great community and I'm happy to be a part of it!

                Re: Getting to know you.....

My name is Steve.. 34 years old, and have been around these parts for a while. (My pic is already posted in the OS member form). Anyhoo, I hail from the great parts of Long Island - currently residing in an apartment that appears to be from the stone ages.
Lived on the Island all my life -- my parents, sister, and brothers all live around here as well. Have a fiance now as well (planning on a 2010 date). So that part of my life is doing well.

                Now the bad:
I used to have a job until last Thursday, when I got the boot -- due to "economic conditions and downturn in business". So for the most part it's sending out resumes and hoping for the best. With the job loss came my personal cutbacks, which included giving up my ps3 (still have my 360 though) as well as some other things I used to have.

Hobbies include sports, reading, and gaming.

                Teams I root for:

                MLB - NY Mets

NFL - Oakland Raiders (long story)

NHL - hmmm, hard to think of at the moment

                  Re: Getting to know you.....

Hey, I am Dave. To describe myself, I am really laid back and an easy going dude. I am an 18 year old recent high-school graduate. I live in Maine - which can get pretty boring for a teenager. I am taken a year off before I go to college cause I'm not sure what I want to take and don't want to rush into anything that I might regret later. I'm leaning towards taking business management at some college. I am moving down to Massachusetts later this year and I am very anxious to start a new chapter in my life and look forward to all the challenges that will come abrupt during my journey to success.

I am absolutely addicted to sports and sports gaming. I support the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics. Yes, I'm from the New England area,. Although, my favorite sports players are from different teams. My favorite players are Amare Stoudemire, Miguel Cabrera, and Prince Fielder. I listen to underground hip-hop. I have a PS3 and absolutely love it. Games I got for it are NBA 2K9, MLB 08: The Show, COD4, GTA IV, and RSV2.

Now, I don't want to type a whole book about myself, so I'll just try to keep it nice and simple. Thanks for reading and have a nice day.

**When I was growing up (still am at times) in Ohio in the 70's Saturday afternoons in the fall meant one thing..Ohio State football. Period. Every Saturday when I see the uniforms it takes me back to those days of my dad washing the car in the driveway and me playing in the yard with the radio tuned in to the game.

**I workout 5 times a week. A combo of strength training and plyometrics allows me to compete with the younger ones in athletics in Chicago.

                        My life's highlights:

                        4/98-Moving to Chicago

8/97-Caddying for a guy that was playing with Tiger Woods at a Pro Am at Firestone CC in Akron.

11/89-Met former President Ronald Reagan at a luncheon in Century City, California.

11/2000-2/2001-(with my hand to God, this is the absolute truth)Was fortunate enough to be able to run the wood with Jordan at my health club here in Chicago. Played with him and against him. The way it worked was that his trainer (Tim Grover) used to work out many of his clients at my health club(before he had Hoops). Jordan finally showed up on a Saturday and wanted to run. He was there every other Saturday for about a month and half.

A lot of the pickup games at my health club had former college players and the games were always really competitive. Jordan showed up with Tim and played.

I'll never ever forget it and there is no possible way to describe what it's like when he's doing the baseline fadeaway in your face, or when he just passes you the ball on the wing. The whole thing was like an out of body experience.

Last but not least I'm the front man in a local cover band here in the Windy City.
