S$P 500 dropped over 7% today and most of the decline was in the last half hour of trading. The decline today and recently is due to hedge fund redemptions. There will be a great buying opportunity soon. This is the worst year for stocks since 1937 with the S&P 500 down 42% year to date from an all time high 1576 on this day last year!!! The S&P 500 is down 38% so far this year. The market is extremely over sold with the VIX over 60 and due for a huge rally. Time to start buying selectively and watch for a bottom.Comment

Hopefully, one of them does soon. Once on goes under, the other will be more successful. There are too many car makers right now for the amount of people which are buying them and once one goes under, it will overall improve the American auto-making industry.
That is why the stupid government loans to the auto-industries is stupid. In America, no longer do only the strong survive, now the weak do to.
Basically, it seems like profits are private and losses are subsidized by the government. Sounds like socialism, eh?

YES....start doing your research now, and if you can save up a few bucks....going to be some really REALLY good buys in the next year or so. Once the market turns around (and it will eventually), there is great potential for serious monetary gain.

Both the Nikkei and Hong Kong are dwon around 10% this morning. Not good....Note to Tiburon Marketing:

Guess it's going to be another rough day on the markets then. The TSX here in Toronto is getting pounded and the Loony has been cut down by 9 cents since this crisis has reared its ugly head. The finance ministers (or equivalent) of the G-7 nations are having an emergency meeting today in Washington to discuss the rate cuts in the states and other such.

Who knows what to think, it doesnt matter what the market does at the beginning of the trading session, we saw that yesterday. Some people were able to make a nice little killing yesterday. Lets hope we dont see a late afternoon slide again.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

Just an interesting note, a couple of big news and financial sites (abcnews, foxnes, cnn, yahoo finance and google finance) are all projecting an ugly day. As of now, the Dow Futures are down 280 points. There might be people jumping off the top floor of our office, and no im not kidding.Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.

Dow is down a bit over 400 points right now. Some people are saying today is the bottom, some are saying that we aren't close to the bottom. I get the feeling neither have a clue.Comment

I'll be honest, i dont think anyone has a clue. We have some guesses and theories, but no one knows for sure. Today may be it, or we may have 3 more weeks of this. Its not an a + b = c equation

Its bad when money has so much control of your being that it would even cause the thought of jumping off a roof, or make you make a string of rash decisions out of complete fear.
How many of these people have taken a huge step back and looked at things for what they really are?
Why are the smaller banks with money getting shafted for doing the right thing?
Just things that crossed my mind. My company dipped a huge percentage and the stock fell, especially after Bill O'reilly pulled his stock when he found out they were selling weapons to Iran.
Lots of amazing things going on but ah well.Comment

Wall Street predictions are funny. We were dropping like a rock all day and end up only down 128 after hearing about how it was going to be a terrible day.
Not good, but still, far from the doomsday we all heard this morning.
