    Talk about Change...

So I haven't been able to spend too much time at OS lately, but my life is in the process of quite the change.

For the past year I have lived with my girlfriend that I have been with for the past two years. About a week ago we were in bed and we had a long discussion that ended in us breaking up and me moving back in with my family. I'm only 20 so its not that big of a deal to move back in with my family. Thing is for the past year I have single handidly for the most part paid for everything in the house, while she has worked a part time job getting 15-20 hours a week. She never had a car so I was driving her everywhere and basically I did most of the cleaning in the house and all of the cooking.

I have the most confusing feeling I have ever had, I know I am gonna miss being with her (we plan on staying friends), but I am so excited to be able to save up money, improve my credit, be free of all of this responsibility, possibly go to college, and just be a 20 year old dude who is free to do what he wants.

Just wanted to talk about it somewhere, and I haven't really been here that often so I figured this would be a nice post to bring to OS.
I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.

You should be thankful that it's over. Imagine you two getting married. Imagine for the next 50-60 years living with that person that spends your money and doesn't do a thing in the house. It's not about the money, it's about the attitude. In a few years from now you're gonna be thankful.

I'm pretty pumped about the idea of how much money I can just bank. No more struggling to pay things. I have a pretty good job, but when you have to pay for everything you end up broke. Haha.

Yeah I think so. I think she could be a good person to keep as a friend. The situation I was in was not very beneficial for me though.

You were doing too much and you're too young for that. This seems like a good and necessary change

Sheesh it seemed like you were already married! I think you made the right decision and at least you still have her as a friend. Go out there and enjoy life bro.

                You're still young.

This is the United States, people don't get married for 50-60 years anymore, thank god for us family law attorneys.

I'm in the exact same situation cept I'm a decent amount older than you. I split with my gf who I lived with about six weeks ago. It's not an easy thing to go through but I have no doubt it's the best for me long term, probably the same deal for you.

And living with your parents in your mid/late 20's absolutely blows.

I'm not really worried about living with my mom, think it'll be nice actually.

Yeah, you're younger than me and my mother is not a pleasant person to live with.

And that's a shame that it doesn't happen anymore.

So do you not plan on living with your current wife for 50-60 years MassNole?

I'm certainly one who doesn't believe in or like changes, but this seems like it had to be done. Paying for yourself AND your GF (not even your wife or fiancee) at our age is ridiculous.
