Getting some accumulation when it was 1-3 then sleet then rain. Now it's just 4-6 inches with some ice.

The highest recorded temperature here so far in February has been 27 degrees. With the forecast over the next week, it is becoming clear that the temperature will never reach above freezing for the entire month.

You might think this is common, but it will only be the 6th month in recorded history here that this is the case. Even during last year's historic cold, there was at least one break each month.

It's been horrible lately. I actually got true frostbite for the first time ever last night. I have an annoying slow leak in a tire right now that I haven't gotten around to fixing. I filled it without gloves - took probably 3 minutes - and this morning there's a spot on my right hand that feels like I touched a hot pan. Couldn't figure out what it was at first.

Snow stopped for now. Going to snow again on Wednesday though. Freezing cold today. Yesterday was a mess, took me 3 hours to clear my drive way of wet heavy snow.

Woke up to snow falling and completely snow covered roads. The forecast called for possible flurries around noon. Hmmmmm.

Also calling for 3-6 inches of snow Wednesday night into thursday. I have no faith in the forecasts though.

It was -25 actual temperature this morning........wind chill of -40. But hey at least it is sunny right ? Small victory.

Well I guess it's pick your snow total time in NC. I've seen different forecasts. I've seen 4-8in, 5-9, and now 8-12. I'm guessing 2 inches.

30 day outlook for March in this area: Cold.

Big 'ole snow coming tonight. I'm thinking 4-8" here, though it really could be more in the 6-12" range if some of the short-range models are right. We'll see. Could we have back-to-back years with 8" storms?

15-20 car pile up in Phelps County Missouri (which closed Interstate 44 for several hours today):





I live close by, about 20 minutes or so away. We probably had no more than 3-4 inches on the ground at the time this happened.

Had some friends stuck in that. They said Missouri S&T students came out to hand out hot chocolate. Props to them!

These weather people suck. Literally a day ago, the reports talk about how it'll be above freezing mark and all that and the cold winter is over.

Check forecast today...now suddenly every day is gonna be insanely cold still and it won't come close to being above freezing.
