It was (Florida) cold a weak or so ago.

Yeah, definitely in the blue here. It was never above freezing in the entire month of February.

      A nice, balmy 40 today.

I forgot to post this before, but this picture is from the February 25th-26th snowstorm. We had around 5-6" on the ground at the point it was taken and ended up with 6.5". It was a quick-hitter with ~4 hours of ~1.5"/hour snowfall rates. The heavy, wet snowfalls (temperatures were ~32 the whole time) always make for nice pictures.

And another from earlier in the evening:

Yep. El Ninos typically result in cold, snowy winters on the US East Coast, but tend to be warmer on a global scale. The warmest year on record (1998) had a "Super" El Nino (very strong El Nino). This year may have a shot at surpassing 1998 in the temperature department as the El Nino looks to strengthen going towards the end of the year (could be another cold/snowy winter for the East Coast next year).

Our average high this winter (DEC 1 to FEB 28) was 78.0 F and the average low was 57.7 F and the lowest temperature 37 F occurred on February 20. The average high so far this month is 83 F. We had a high of 87.3 F yesterday! How many places in North America can you walk outside in mid January with a temperature above 80 F? Not many, but this is one of those places near the southern tip of Florida. We are about 25 miles from Key Largo!
The Mango trees have bloomed and the Simmons avocado tree has also bloomed. Tomorrow I am going to harvest a 13 hand 70 pound Namwa banana bunch.

The high today was 85.6 F.

My great aunt and uncle own Shiver's Barbeque in Homestead. I haven't been down there in over a decade, though. Interesting place, although a bit too warm for my tastes.

That is a great restaurant! Highly recommended! The winter weather is great, but before long we will have to watch the tropics again. The north Atlantic ocean is very warm and can breed very devastating hurricanes. We suffered horrific damages during Hurricane Andrew in August 1992. It was really really really awful! Lots of times though hurricanes start heading in this direction and then turn north and even these are often anxious moments as you MUST prepare! Eventually we are going to get nailed again! I hope it is a long way off still and continue to enjoy the weather.

I am beyond exhausted. We got hit with 72cm of snow yesterday on top of the 35cm we had last week. Absolutely nowhere to put it!

My cousin lives near Boston where there has been massive snowfall this winter. I have only experienced snowfall three times in my life time but never here.

1-3 inches snow then changing to rain.

It was 60 degrees on Tuesday.

70 degrees and sunny. High is supposed to 85. Chance of rain tomorrow, which means it won't. Winter never came to Central California.

45 and rainy after a week of 30 and snowy. It's never going to end. The sun has retired for good.
