They've already issued a Blizzard Warning for the DC and Baltimore area with "life threatening conditions" from Friday afternoon into Saturday.

Not looking forward to it. Just moved recently and got a nice long gravel driveway to shovel

Our winter storm has been named Jonas...not really sure how to feel about that.

It's going to be a "whale of a storm," haha.

We are going to get crushed here. Precip type is a bit indeterminate, but it's either going to be our biggest snowstorm in a long time or one hell of a mixed bag with significant icing. Power outages will be severe in that case.

Winter Storm Warning for much of central and western NC

This is the kind of stuff I hate. Will it snow or ice or rain, basically wait and see. Regardless I probably wont be coming in to work tomorrow. Im about 45-50 west of Raleigh so as it stands I'm in the "mix" area. Yeah.

It was 59 when I woke up this morning. The high today is 72. 80% chance of of PM Thunderstorms and cooling off tomorrow with a high of 47.

They're calling for a likely amount of 17 inches here.

My AccuWeather says 13-24. Mainly Saturday daytime (6-10). But 4-8 Saturday night. Kicking off with 3-6 on Friday night.

So upset I'm gonna be missing one of the better snows of the last 5+ years for the area. Hope it remains snow and not ice. They did say it'll get increasingly more wet as it goes on. If power goes... BEAT

They have canceled classes and closed the clinic for tomorrow here at Virginia Tech so I am officially in snow day mode. Got the Xbox fired up and the feet kicked up.

Used to live near there in Spartanburg (well, actually Inman). Hey, it's where the Panthers started out, so they can claim that. Funky weather possibilities all the time around there. Could have a tornado, could have an ice storm. One year, something happened where the ice on our roof melted and something with the rate of melting it ended up forcing it's way inside our house. One whole damn side of our house was bleeding water on the walls. It was like a friggin' horror movie.

We just got bumped up from 1/2 foot to 18-24". ****!!! <<=== very, very bad curse word
