Others stayed back not able to get home (roads closed and public transit shut down) but I literally walked to get somewhere I could get home from. Haven't heard from them so don't know if they got home or if they have reception.

Got home.............it's a nightmare. Looks like things you'd see on major news weather reports. Might be days or weeks to attempt restoring anything properly.

Side note, I never knew how big worms could get. Everything's flooded so much that the entire lawn under all the water just has these foot long worms sitting on top. Not even exaggerating, they're huge. Makes those small worms usually seen seem like nothing. Everything from under the lawn just got pushed up and out from underground. At least ankle deep water ON GRASS.

Anyone who is interested, check out that Drake video of his whole place getting flooded, as if this year couldn't be bad enough for him. LOTS of people in same situation with their non mansions.

Its currently storming, and hopefully it kills off the immense heat we've been having the last few days.

I suspect that cloud seeding has led to some of the unfortunate weather some of us have gotten lately. Such a tool has great purpose and can lead to wonderful harvests, but there is also consequence for every action. Damage we have sustained [from any storms produced through the seeding] would likely be considered collateral damage for fending off droughts. It just is what it is.

On top of that, I think a big thing to blame for stuff like floods are cities getting rid of green spaces in favour of building more condos, office towers, warehouses and so on. It's bad enough getting this kind of rain, but then where does the water go?

And then people often don't want big trees in their yards for different reasons and once those get cut down you lose another big thing that would've absorbed lots of water. It's one of the things I notice in the winter. When it snows, some of my neighbours have huge trees and you can see a giant circle around the tree of nothing but grass instead of snow because the roots absorbed all the water so you can see how far the roots really go.

Fellow Floridans, stay safe this week. Looks like Milton will cross the state. Depending on strength will probably put the shutters up.

Lots of tornadoes near me yesterday, thankfully no major damage. City/county got beat up pretty bad. Sadly a senior community got hit and people were killed in my area. I've never seen that many tornadoes in any storm, especially in front of it. These were big tornadoes, like stuff I'd see on the news in the midwest.

Thankfully we were able to keep power last night. Hope other Florida posters made it out ok or with minimal damage.

                          4-10 inches of snow
                          .50-.75 inches of ice

Thankfully, my employer is paying us to stay home today. I pray the power stays on. But if we get that much freaking ice...not likely.

It's cold here in the Charlotte area. Not to some of you other folks but for a native South Carolinian it's pretty freakin' frigid. lol

Thankfully, the bulk of the ice went further south, and we got more snow.

When it was all said and done, about 10 inches of snow with a quarter inch of ice somewhere in the middle.

It made it fun to get the snow off my car, especially when the ice would come off in huge chunks, lol.

There's people who talk about the satisfying feeling of cutting cardboard paper, but I'll contest the feeling of scraping your car and having it break apart in massive chunks is as good as any
