Not just the beaches of SC, but the beaches of Pensacola, New Orleans, and Houston, LOL!

In truth, though, you should get some snow in NW SC (if that's where you're posting from). Probably not a lot, though.

We're getting ready for possible 3-5 inch snowfall, starting sometime between noon-4pm. What a difference a day makes, it was in the low 60's yesterday.

Birmingham is a total disaster. Just upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning for 2-3", cars stranded everywhere with heavy snow and temperatures in the upper teens. Just a mess. The roads aren't treated at all since their forecast was for pretty much nothing until this morning.

It's 19 degrees here with virga. Snow should be moving in soon. The forecast is now for 1-3" of snow. It should be fun and a real mess with temperatures in the upper teens (most snow we get here comes with temperatures near or even above freezing). I wouldn't be shocked if we got more on the order of 2-4", though. My 3:30 class at college is cancelled, but my 2 PM class is still on, so I might have to drive home in the snow...

1-3" isn't that much, even for here, but it's going to be a high-impact snow with temperatures so low. The snow will stick to everything almost immediately.

in atlanta, glad I planned on not going anywhere today ... people are crashing cars, have seen a few somehow flipped over ... its like 1-2 inches at most, sure the overpasses have some ice, but come on

I'm from the south, but have driven in snow plenty and I just don't see how people crash so much. Traffic has been deadlocked since around 1:30 PM.

To be fair Anchorage doesn't get that cold. Coldest it was there in my 3 years was -18.

-50 windchill here in Logan, West Va but back home in Birmingham it's Armageddon. Every road closed, thousands of drivers stranded on icy roads, abandoning cars and walking home. Northerners who laugh at Southerners over snow tend to forget that the North has armadas of plows, salt trucks, etc. The South? We have one old guy with a shovel.

yeah, i was looking at the news tonight with what all is going on in B'ham, it's crazy there. Kids having to sleep at school because their parents can't get to them, that's nuts.

It's cold here in Madison, but there was a magical force field around here that parted the snow clouds and kept most of the bad stuff away.

Wow! -50 WC all the way down in WV? It's been as frigid a winter as I've ever been through here in Mich but I don't think we've even had -40 WC. That's nuts man

Wasn't true going to church on Sunday morning. Roads were snow covered without salt trucks or plows, plus, the type of snow that blows around too.

Northerners probably just have more patience because we are used to it.

I can't believe it's going to snow here in the morning. FSU has cancelled all classes until noon. We are having a snow day, in Florida.

I ended up with 1.75". Nice event. The roads are completely covered and should be a real mess in the morning. 18 degrees with continuing flurries now.

We're still going to need to get 6"+ more snow over the rest of the winter if we want to claw our way to climo...
