It was 16* here in central Louisiana this morning. It's been a pretty cold winter by our standards. I'm 37 and can't ever remember having this many days at or below freezing here. With any luck the bugs and mosquitos won't be as bad this summer at least.

February looks like a stormy month for the east. There should be some big storms.

Our weatherman noted there aren't any more below 0 readings for the next 10 day forecast, but I noted no temps above 30, either.

He feels there's a bit of change coming in the weather pattern. Out with the Alberta Clippers and in with snow from the south. We are suppose to get 3-6 on Saturday and more coming Tuesday/Wednesday.

Yeah there is a predicted 24-36 inch snow storm coming next weekend. Even though it'll probably come down from that, it's still gonna be a monster.

24-36 sounds like an exaggeration for sure.

But man, if they're right, that's gonna be an intense snowstorm. I think we got 18 inches the night the Metrodome roof collapsed.

Next weekend's storm is unlikely to be a 24-36" snowstorm for the Mid-Atlantic. It COULD happen, but it's unlikely. I think someone saw the European Model's overblown snowfall maps from WeatherBell. Those things have been spreading on Facebook like wildfire, unfortunately.

In fact, the 12z Euro run from today showed a grand total of nothing for the Mid-Atlantic. Day 10 operational models have to be taken with a grain of salt, though. The forecasting skill at that range is severely lacking.

Nevertheless, there is a decent shot at a big snowstorm for the Ohio Valley and up towards Chicago. The day 10 threat for the Mid-Atlantic is real, too, but I wouldn't count on it or expect it.

Yeah I was thinking it could have been a hoax going around. However, I had been keeping track of the extended forecast and it was showing some snow ... Until I checked it today, where it showed none.

I want a friggin' blizzard damn it!

I knew predicting this far out was a crapshoot, but I was expecting still a decent amount because even if 2-3 feet falls short, that's still an assload of snow.

Had a few days of rain..back to sunny and warm here in Northern California. Need rain..bad.

A lot of reservoirs are at like 15% full. Sierra Nevada snow pack is only 12% of its average for this time of year. The State Water Project that transfers water to SoCal through aqueducts reduced is transfer to zero yesterday. That's unprecedented. Some rural areas only have enough well water to last 2-4 months. This is bad. Really bad. It's been building for a few years but nothing like this year.

Looks like some more snow on Monday... Rain to snow accumulating 2-4 inches. Neighborhood streets are just now being cleared of the solid packed ice they were.

Snow back in the forecast for next weekend. I'm sure that'll be back and forth all week.
