It's 34 degrees here in Fort Worth right now. From Thursday until at least Next Wednesday, the temperature is supposed to be north of 63. Perfect.

Looking good for 8"+ from the upcoming winter storm, IMO. I might be able to make a run at a foot. This storm looks like it's going to be insane and has the possibility to drop huge snow totals from upstate SC up through NC, VA, DC, MD, NJ, NY, and New England. It's also going to have catastrophic ice for much of GA (probably including Atlanta, though ATL might get more sleet) and much of the SC midlands.

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?

I'm not sure what to think with this storm. Most weather outlets are not really giving forecast snow/ice amounts. Reading NOAA's discussion they say 2-4 at the highway 1 corridor and 4-6 towards the triad. Seems low on both accounts compared to how most meteorologist have been talking about the storm. Granted this could be because of the uncertainty of the sleet/freezing rain mixing in. Personally I'm closer to Greensboro then I am Raleigh but not by much so it's going to be interesting to see what happens.

Saying 6-8 Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Upwards of 8 in the high terrain of eastern PA.

Oh it's 6-10 with ice possible.

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?

I feel bad for parts of the country not experiencing a winter like this in ages. Hello, Seattle, almost 3 inches of snow a few days ago.

For Wisconsin, we've had the type of winter we are having currently, but not in a long time. The paper said that we've had 65 consecutive days of snow on the ground. It's not a record yet, but could be a record if the snow last till the end of March.

Some of the meteorologist around here are stating that there might be a bit of a change in the weather pattern since the west coast has had moisture recently. We might be seeing a bit of a warm up, but I still don't see temps past 30 degrees in the long range forecast. About an inch of snow tomorrow, Saturday we could see several inches of snow, too early to predict.

Correction- Temps are forecasted to be above freezing next Monday. Time to throw a thawing party.

I've seen anywhere from 4-8 to 8-12 for us in Northern NJ. I'm sick of it. I just recently moved a mile or two from my old apartment and my street is abandoned by the city. We still have ice in the middle of the street from the snow/ice last Wednesday.

It may be time to move to South FL.

This thing is still pretty up in the air from DC to NYC. We're getting something, just not sure exactly what.

This might be the biggest snowstorm in years here. This is truly a historic storm. I'm not sure whether we make 10"+ or not, but even if we don't due to mixing with sleet, it's going to be insane with a low bombing off to the east, wind gusts exceeding 40 MPH, and heavy snowfall rates. It's almost reminiscent of the March '93 Superstorm, though admittedly not that extreme. It's going to be crazy here tomorrow and tomorrow night into Thursday! I'm right on the snow/sleet line, so I'm pretty nervous, but if we can stay all-snow, a foot might be doable, which hasn't happened in at least 30 years here.

A horrible ice storm is in progress from Atlanta to Columbia now. I feel bad for them...

Depending on the track, you all could easily flip to rain. That will be the determining factor.

Just your typical rainy winter here in Vancouver. We don't get much snow falling around here much anymore. I can't recall the last major snow fall we had. Only had one snow fall this year and it was only a couple of inches if that. Melted away in a day or so due to rain.

No one knows what the hell is going on here. Every new site and weather site is different. We're projected to get anywhere for 1 inch to over a foot tomorrow.
