If I'm not mistaken tornadoes are worse than hurricanes for localized destruction, but hurricanes cover so much more ground the overall damage is way worse. Either way if your house takes a direct hit from either one you're ****ed.

We get a lot of tornado warnings but it's not usually because actual tornadoes were spotted, it's typically because "rotation clouds" were detected by the computers. I don't think the real deal touches down all that often here (Mid Michigan), but I'm also fortunate enough to live in a valley that makes it harder for them to touch down. I still freak out every time I see the warning though lol, can't help it, I start messaging people I know just in case

Yeah I believe Watch means conditions are favorable, a Warning indicates a touch down (GO TEAM!) or rotation clouds like you described.

I had Accuweather app on my phone going, but hit Twitter for up to the second info. Philly did not give a single ****. Lol

I live in BC, but I happen to live in a unique place that is a desert climate so its already in the mid 20's here. Not sure of the conversion on that. It's very hot here. Hottest city in Canada. We are roughly 72-75 degrees Fahrenheit for the week

I’m a couple days late on this but I live in Philly and I never got an alert. I have an IPhone through Verizon so I don’t know why I didn’t bet one but all I heard was people keep talking about this alert.

Same phone, same service. As long as Settings > Notifications > Emergency Alerts is set to ON, should’ve gotten the most annoying alert of all time. Same thing as the AMBER Alert.

😂 they were on so I have no clue what happen. I’ve gotten Amber Alerts and weather alerts in the past so who knows maybe natural selection was trying to happen lol.

Finally consistently warm enough that winter clothes can be put away. Indoors you could wear short sleeves (outdoors obviously still need jacket).

May-September specifically are typically nice, though I could live without the insanely hot and humid days in summer where you sweat/"glisten" 23/7.

Didn't get the crazy phone alert yet, but The Weather Channel app just dropped a notification for a tornado watch on the Philly/Del/South Jersey area.... skies are clear at the moment.
