Had some snow here earlier and tomorrow it's posed to be around the 20s.
Feel sorry for all the people here attending the inauguration. They're going to be freezing their *** off.#RespectTheCultureComment

This is looking like a bust... I mean, there's still a little hope for some snow, but not much.
The long-term pattern appears to be getting the Southern Jet Stream more active, though, which means more moisture down here which means more rain and more opportunities for a nice winter storm around in the Southeast.Comment

WRAL says the heaviest in raleigh is coming 8 hours from now....but lets be honest, all we've got the past three of four years is a cold, miserable rain. I can't expect this to be any different.Comment

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
We got about two inches here in the Triad. It isn't too much, but it's better than nothing. I hope we can still get the big one sometime later this winter, but this is better than we've had in the last few winters here.
Our folks in Raleigh look to be getting in upwards of six inches of snow, so congratulations to you all!Comment

Re: So what's the weather like where you live?
Just to let some of you Southeasterners know, there appears to be the potential for a winter storm of sorts to develop Sunday night over the Carolinas, Tennessee, and maybe Georgia and South Carolina. It looks to be more of a freezing rain event, though it could mix with snow. I haven't seen any of the weather forecasts bring up this possibility, but a lot of the models are suggesting it. This includes Greensboro, Raleigh, Knoxville, Nashville, ect....
Of course, this could all change. But with the last storm they didn't predict it until the morning of the storm even though there had been forecast models predicting the event for a couple days, so I would be on the lookout, at least.
We got out of the 30s finally today! We were supposed to get up into the upper 40s yesterday, but we didn't get above 35, LOL. We got up into the 50s today for the first time in weeks and finally recorded above average temperatures for the first time in weeks. But we'll be back into the arctic freeze soon enough again, it appears, with temperatures plunging down on Sunday.
There's also the potential for a big winter storm next week, so keep an eye on that.
Didn't it actually snow there a little last year or this year? That was wild!Comment

Yeah "white death" is near me too and plans to stick around until sometime Wednesday. Snow I can deal with. The ice/sleet we're getting tomorrow night is what I hate.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
NFL: Cincinnati Bengals
NCAA Hoops: Xavier Musketeers
NCAA Football: Miami Hurricanes
NHL: Calgary Flames

Freezing Rain Advisory here until 9am Wednesday.
It's pretty messy from Texas to the Atlantic Coast right now.
What's to be expected...
