I don't work out, I'm too damn sexy without having to exercise.

Re: Proper Gym Etiquette
I know about southern hospitality and all that but I have never seen a random person spot someone if it looked like they were struggling. I have seen someone not be able to get the last rep up on the bench and basically have the barbell collapse on their chest and no one in the gym did a thing until some "trainer" who worked there came running over. I actually did this the other day. I was walking by a guy benching and heard him struggling. I glance at the scenario and the bar is not going up at all. I had to help out haha.Comment

I stick to working out at home. I have some free weights, perfect push up, and some other things, and they work well. Plus, they save some money for me, instead of having to pay for membership and what not.
The only reason I would join a gym, would be to pick up chicks. I work next to one of the busiest Bally's in the nation, apparently, and so many beautiful girls go there.Comment

LOL, so true. Even if you are right and the guy is screwed he'd still rather get out of that pickle on his own. I will never spot someone I don't know unless they ask me or are screaming bloody murder."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Proper Gym Etiquette
Oh and I'm a huge bitch once I corrected somebody's form! I forgot about that haha.
What a jerk!
Don't correct the form of other people, it's a huge slap in the face!
He wasn't publicly upset but there's no way he liked it. His form was so terrible though!Comment

Re: Proper Gym Etiquette
I know what you mean. I don't really go to a gym per se, but I lift about 4 days a week for football off-season. Every year or so we get some new kids and then they try to hang clean or something and it just looks brutal. It's tough to watch.WUSTLComment

Re: Proper Gym Etiquette
I got a dude at my gym that had a marines T shirt that's two sizes too big. He took a scissors and cut out the sides, so he's practically shirtless except he has a collar. He looks like a tool.
I also have way too many guys wearing spandex shirts. Their nipples scare me.
I used to work out at a place where a regular sleeved t shirt was mandatory. Othewise people sweat all over the equipment. This place had real big dudes. Where Im at now, most of the dudes are not that big, and most have awful form. They have no idea what "full range of motion" means. ANd they try to wear as little clothing as possible.
A lot of them also think the mirror is not to check form, but to stare at themselves between sets.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Proper Gym Etiquette
There's one other rule, sort of put in there but not as its own rule:
- Girls are there to work out, that's it. They are unconsciously trying to catch your attention, but they do not want to be bothered, hassled, or even talked to. Do your business and let them do theirs, unfortunately. Let's just say this is coming from multiple personal experiences.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Proper Gym Etiquette
With some of your points - great. It's pretty obvious that you should put your equipment back, wipe everything down, not hog things - etc, those are all fine and dandy, and anyone not doing them is a douche.
But carrying around a water bottle that you deem too big? Or wearing tight clothing? Or wanting to use their phone? Or looking in the mirror at themselves? Please...
I just think it's silly when other people feel the need to tell other people how to act, when it has nothing to do with them. Unless it's directly disrupting your ability to work out then they're not doing anything wrong.Last edited by MC Fatigue; 12-03-2008, 11:14 AM.Comment
