I'd like to go on record as saying I'm surprised a thread about the inflation on a double cheeseburger has gotten this many responses.Originally posted by VP Richard M. Thanks, dookies!Comment

Just buy the bread, meat, and cheese and make better, healthier, and cheaper burgers yourself.
And on the topic of milk, I'm living with two roommates at an apartment. We split most of the food costs, and at the start of the semester, we'd switch off buying the milk. Well, I started to notice that we were finishing a gallon about every other day, and I sometimes wasn't drinking any. So we made one of my roomates start buying his own milk, because he goes through the stuff like it is water. My other roomate and I now go through about a gallon in a week and a half, and the other guy is drinking at least two a week. I should start a thread about my roomate; I've got all kinds of stories like this one. Living with the guy is a full-time job.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

I don't use milk for anything. Cereal is basically candy so I don't eat that stuff, plus milk has enough sugar in it already. I don't drink milk because I'd much rather have water, even if I were having cookies. Basically I don't like to drink calories. Yea I pretty much don't drink any beverage that has calories in it (water 95% of the time).
I'm as healthy as can be as well, it isn't vital for nutritional supplementation.

Wow, not sure why that comment was necessary, if you dont care then move on but going out of your way to make a sarcastic comment about how you and everyone else doesnt care is pointless.Comment

I want to know this kid's definition of value? Just because something is cheap doesn't mean it's a value. I'll take the quality of an In-n-Out over the cheap of McDonald's any day of the week.Comment

Hey man, to be fair he's been giving posting lessons all week. I'm surprised that these forums have lasted as long as they have without the recent revelations he's had.Comment

The great thing about In-n-Out is I can feed me, my wife, and 2 year old daughter for about $12.50 and walk away knowing we ate a pretty good meal. Their quality is second to none in the fast food market. Heck even when my tank of a 3 month old gets ready to eat his first Double Double I'm quite sure we'll get out of there for less than $18.Comment

Re: And just like that, McDonald's just lost one, if not millions of customers
Anyways, if you don't feel like spending that extra 20 cents on McDonalds, donate it to the millions of starving children in Third World countries.
BTW, I'm not taking any sides, I'm just commenting that prices on everything are going up today. It's called Inflation.
Anyway, people don't seem to understand the point of my post. I'm just saying that McDonald's doesn't have much going for them these days... nothing nutritional, the Angus burger is a major flop, and after seeing that commercial in the Entertainment & Technology sub-forum, I'd say that their marketing, which has never really been good, isn't their best quality either. That's not to say that they aren't the wealthiest corporation on this planet, but they will lose a lot of people because they got rid of the one thing they had going for them... the dollar double cheeseburgers.
I'm not complaining that they're now overpricing it. In fact, we're still getting a great deal. But now at their price, they are pretty much matching with their competitors, and now there's a much more balanced choice list with where you want to go when you want a burger. I will now choose Jack In the Box.
EDIT: I'll give this McDouble thing a chance, though. If, indeed, I can unconsciously discern one slice of cheese from two and say that it's a terrible difference, that will be it from them.
And if this move is so great for them, why didn't they do it a long time ago? Would have economically made sense, no?
Remember, I'm just saying that, from a competitive standpoint, McDonald's is now testing out who their most loyal customers are, and they're putting the taste to the test.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

BTW why all the attacks lately? Jeezzzzz. If you can't see why I said I was healthy then you're missing the messages.
-Milk isn't a necessity.
+You can't be serious!
-I am. I don't drink it. I'm healthy, it's not a necessity.
++OMFG nobody cares if you're healthy.
