Make sure when you get out of college go into business and sell everything below your cost, never raise prices, and don't pay heed to inflation. You will have a business with millions of customers.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

I'm just saying, there's no reason for them to do it in the first place if they won't follow through with it. I understand "deals" and what not, but this was different.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

With the economy the way it is, companies are just trying to maintain market share and either trying to lure customers from the competition or prevent theirs from leaving. They may have not receive the results they expected from the promotion and therefore cancelled it.
The same goes with the double cheeseburger. Originally, people may have bought a sandwhich and a large fry and drink and are now buying a small fry and drink or something similar. It may have been cost effective and profitable at first, but as consumer spending habits changed, it may have gone from an add-on for many people to the main course.Comment

Meh, I suppose. The way I see it, it's the coupons that are the biggest ticket. Coupons and mail-in rebates. It gives people the opportunity to take advantage of a price lower than what they normally sell it for, but not everybody does, even when they buy it for that reason. Then they buy the complements of course, but you know... McDonalds is the largest fast food chain in the world. I don't see how they lose or gain either way, except for raising prices back up. That's always my meal ticket out of somewhere.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: And just like that, McDonald's just lost one, if not millions of customers
The lost me when they discontinued chicken selects. Had been watching the 11:00 news 1 night and they said that McDonald's would be discontinuing them and some walnut fruit salad thing. Figured I'd go there for lunch the next day and get chicken selects one last time. However, I get there and the lady at the cash register tells me they no longer sell them even though I'd just heard less than 24 hours before that they would be discontinued. I turned around and walked out without ordering anything and wouldn't have gone back at all if my aunt hadn't sent me a couple McDonald's gift cards a couple months later.
And yeah, fast food prices just keep going up. For what it costs me to get a 6 inch sub, cookies and a drink today, I could get a 12 inch, cookies and a drink 7 years ago.Last edited by BurghFan; 12-09-2014, 07:12 PM.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Local McDonald's story. Bacon McDoubles are 2$ each right? So I order 3 of them with just mayo. They charge me 60 cents PER SANDWICH for just mayo. Mayo is 60 cents more expensive than the ketchup, mustard, onion, and pickles included in the normal price.NFL: Green Bay Packers

Re: And just like that, McDonald's just lost one, if not millions of customers
I can't really think of a place I eat where I think "wow this isn't worth the price".
The sub place I work at is insane though. I would never pay full price for it. $9.99 plus tax for a 14 inch that isn't even that good. Only reason I eat there is I get half priceBuffalo Bills
