That is exactly what i was going to say too. Whataburger is the closest thing to a real old fashioned burger ive had at any fast food place. The rest are not really hamburgers they are fast-food burgers (there is a difference).

        That spicy ketchup is ingenious.

All Ketchup should taste like theirs. Im surprised no other chain has tried to copy it as their main ketchup. Plus, the little disposable tubs beats the monotonous task of opening 10 tiny ketchup packets to get you through your french fries.

White Castle's brown mustard is delicious.

100 % on those tubs. Why other chains don't do this I have no idea.

I have to drive a couple hours for the nearest Whataburger but they sell the ketchup and mustard in all the local grocery stores. I buy it even though it's the most expensive.

I ate that and Jack-in-the-Box so much when I was in Austin. I miss them both like crazy now living back in Ohio.

When we traveled south my wife got to try the fabled Whataburger and she didn't really like it, she ate her whole burger but said it was "way too salty".

I ate a triple burger with cheese and was happy as a clam.

My friend liked them so much when we met up for a Cowboys game he got 3 Whataburgers by the airport, put them in his carry on and took them back to Chicago with him, LOL..

Only about once or twice a year (if that much) - usually in Summer - i crave a root beer. Today is that day. So, i saw a McDonald's and went through the drive-thru (i never use drive-thru's by the way..) So i order a root beer and a fry. They tell me they don't sell root beer... what?? I thought every fast food place sold root beer!!

Go to Culvers if you want some good root beer. If you have one near you.

Culver’s® is a family-favorite restaurant known for their local ButterBurgers, Fresh Frozen Custard & Wisconsin Cheese Curds. Get to your nearest Culver's location or order online today!

Wow. Today I learned there are people that have never had a filet-o-fish. Although personally, I've always preferred the "Whaler", which to my knowledge Burger King no longer sells.

I was gonna say, while you might miss Whataburger, Culver's is a decent regional fast-food joint. Fried cheese curds are so ridiculously Midwestern it borders on caricature, but then, they taste pretty awesome so....

I must try this Whataburger you all speak of, with said spicy ketchup. High alert for my next trip in the south: Bojangles and Whataburger. I will make sure I re-up my gym membership prior to the trip...

Thanks for the tip. There appears to be one near me. About an hour away. Which is about the distance everything is from here. Like ol' Everett said "well isn't this place a geographical oddity - two weeks from everywhere!" I will definitely try that out when i am in the neighborhood.

The Spicy Ketchup is good, but also don't underestimate the regular ketchup at Whataburger. It's different than most places, and is actually my favorite ketchup anywhere. I just bought a bottle of it today.
