I end up watching all those Fast Food Paradise episodes I think the Travel Channel has on when bored. Most of the overseas fast food shown looks way better than here in the US.

I also like KFC's sides - with the exception of the red beans-and-rice you can get at Popeye's, I pretty much like the KFC sides better most of the time.

The other thing KFC has going for it vs Popeyes - and this is a big-time "your mileage may vary" situation - is that my personal experience over years is that I often get at least 1 really small, gnarled piece of chicken in any Popeyes 3 or 4-piece meal which barely counts as a "piece" and always seems like a bit of rip-off to me (so I feel like its really a 2 or 3-piece meal, effectively). Whereas my experience with KFC is that this happens far less often.
KFC is so hit and miss depending on location. We have two. They both suck, you're really playing with fire ordering from either of them. But especially at the western location, which has apparently randomly stopped seasoning their chicken according to someone on our city's subreddit.

It's not hard to believe. The KFC near my place in Japan sold hamburgers. There was also an all you can eat KFC buffet in Osaka.

We have a really good KFC, but the same family has franchised it since the 90's. Often times the owners work the drive-thru window and it's a good quality fast food. There's a Lee's Chicken across the highway that's better, but often has longer waits.

The best Denny’s I ever been to is up the block from me. Franchises have to compete super hard here since we get other franchises from Japan, Korea, Singapore.

I don’t know if the States have this yet but we have a couple conveyer belt McDonalds spots. Pretty cool.

As for McDonald’s Philippines, some items that are unique:

            Boba
            Fried Chicken
            Hershey Chocolate pie
            Teriyaki rice bowl
            Katsu chicken rice bowl
            Brown sugar baba sundae
Sweet Spaghetti with hotdogs (that’s a Philippines must)
Shake Fries, basically powdered cheese you put in with the fries
Mushroom pepper streak with gravy and rice
BCB burger (chicken filet between two burgers)
            Some type of Japanese burger
            Pandasel and longanesabreakfast sandwich
BFF fries basically the size of two large fries put together

That’s basically what I remember, there’s other stuff like the ones McCafe that have nice deserts.

A lot of these items are there to compete with Jollibee which is a the number 1 franchise here.

Any I should stop talking about this, I’m on a diet lol

This is how the one in my hometown was run. It was the family of a girl in my grade and the dad worked the register very often. He just retired a month or so ago, so no more KFC in my hometown.

On two other notes for this thread, I think Burger King is doing two Whoppers for $5.

And McDonald's is doing some sort of 2 for $3.50 thing, which includes the McDouble. Think back about what this thread was about when it was made... I was griping that the double cheeseburger was no longer $1, being replaced in that price value by the McDouble... and now we're essentially getting a timed deal to have the McDouble at $1.75 a pop? I know that the cost of meat has gone up everywhere, but that's just kind of interesting to note.
when I was in college there was a local garbage dump of a franchise called "get em n go" that actually had TRIPLE cheeseburgers for a buck

they were perfect for a late night, or a morning recovery, but I would never recommend them to any human or their dogs, even though I'm salivating as I think of them lol

Oh, god, don't even get me started on how good Lee's is. Best fast-food fried chicken I've ever had hands-down. It's ridiculously awesome. Too bad there only seem to be a handful of locations and mostly in the midwest, because I would probably be willing to commit any number of crimes against humanity in order to get a franchise out near me. If it were even an option, I would definitely take Lee's over KFC (or any other chicken joint) 100 out of 100 times.

We have the only Lee's Chicken in the State. The fried chicken market is tough to crack in the South because some gas stations have better friend chicken than the restaurants do and there are so many regional chain options. I'm not sure why they decided to put one here, but I'm glad.

I've eaten there a couple times, years ago. I live on the other side of Jefferson County, in St. Clair. wouldn't mind having a Lee's around here. I remember loving their biscuits as well. if you can't get a good biscuit with good chicken, then you might as well keep your chicken.
