But you're right.....we haven't had a bad winter or a really bad storm in a while...we might be a little spoiled.

That '93 storm was killer though.

You guys can have that crap, I don't miss northern winters at all. Perfect 65 degrees right now down here and today was simply lovely. I may wake up in the morning put on my shorts and go shoot around a bit. Screw shoveling snow.

I couldn't live without the change of seasons....INCLUDING winters.
Right now the snow is on the pines....the tree on the deck is all lit up.....it looks beautiful.
After 3 years of Miami Christmas'.....(not being able to afford to leave my job when in school) I swore I would NEVER spend the holidays where there is virtually no chance of snow. Holiday season in the warm weather blows IMO.
If I wanna' ball.....I just go to the gym.

I wish it'd snow here. Instead, we sit here with 50-something degree weather while Las Vegas, New Orleans, Houston, and Baton Rouge all have gotten snow in the last couple of weeks and the Northeast is being hammered. Ugh!

We just need an Appalachian Wedge to move in here already!

Snow is great.

The more it snows here in NY, the better the mountains for snowboarding in a month. Keep the winter rain coming!

It's part of the reason I haven't moved out to Cali. Christmas without snow? Bah humbug, fellas.

Stay away from cheap tires- I learned my lesson the hard way. Had my tires changed a couple months back after I blew out a tire (had to change the others anyway, they were well past due). Well, to save a buck I got some "Primewell" that Firestone had because they were like 50 bucks each. Later I found out it's a Chinese import that Firestone as its economy model. Nevermind that the tires are loud as hell and it sounds like a 747 taking off.

Anyway, I've had my Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT since 2005 and never had any issue in snow. Rather, I've plowed through 6+ inches with ease with barely a skid with my stock tires (which have a pretty bad rep in snow, Potenza). I drove across half of Long Island without an issue during the big storm last December. Today on my 10 minute drive back from school, I couldn't even come to a stop going 5-10 mph without my skidding and having ABS turn on. Making a turn while even gently accelerating? Impossible. I almost rear-ended a guy but thankfully there was a nice strip of grass for me to drive onto to stop my momentum.

I'm livid but its my own fault- I tried going cheap and this is what I got. Thankfully, I nor anyone else got hurt. All-season tires can definitely work in NY and I drove with good all-seasons for the last 7 years without an issue in snow. I have to get an oil change next week and I'm going to change my tires too to a Michelin/Goodyear. Safety is not a place to save a few bucks.

I spent a good portion of this year living in Los Angeles, but I made sure to come back home for Christmas. I need snow to enjoy my December 25th. I've only had three Christmas days without snow, and they were my first three years of life in Sicily. Luckily, here in Montreal snow is everywhere!

I still love the beach though!

In Spokane, WA it snowed 17" in a 24 hour period...Coeur D'Alene, ID had 25" in 24 hours.

There is one Potenza that is actually probably the best All-Season tire you can get for the snow. The Pole Position. I just put them on both of my Audi's. Price...pretty steep....but they are excellent.
Nice tread for the snow without sounding like you are in a prop plane....

and here is the tire rack rating(EXCELLENT site to read about any rubber you're thinking of getting)

(whoops...doesn't print the actual rating...but they received superior in all ratings except the snow ratings where they are an excellent rating)
