Okay I'll withdraw that statement then becaue as I said I'm no expert on this. But the whole getting released early on good behaviour thing is hte same concept. If you acknowledge that your wrong and do everything that you should be afterwards you'd certainly be better off than someone that doesn't.

Except a speeding ticket is just punishment, as driving is a privilege not a right. My body is mine, and it is my right to do with it as I please. That is, unless you are under the belief that, somehow, the police and the government have partial-ownership of my Body, Mind, and Soul.
If that's what you believe, then the government has every right to mandate how many calories you consume (don't want you too get too big, you've got work to do). Mandate what jobs you can or cannot work (don't want you to hurt your back at old age, they've got an investment in you). And so on and so forth. Are you willing to admit the police and the government have that power? If so....so long USA, I'm out.

Re: OS Off Topic 2009
But laws have to be made under generalization. If someone gets high on weed and does something stupid that affects someone else besides them then they have to get arrested because the weed is having negative effects on not only them but society. That means that weed in general has to be illegal because you can't just have the guys that do crazy things when their high getting arrested while you have the guys, like you, that sit there silently. That would just be unfair.
By and large, the danger of marijuana is eating too many cupcakes; the main reason I stopped smoking was because it's pretty damn boring.
If anything, marijuana would be a pretty solid tool for holding down the unproductive members of society by keeping them high and docile.Comment

People do much, much, much more stupid things while drinking than they do while smoking marijuana.

I disagree here. I've seen some people doing some crazy things while high on weed.My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment

Anyways, any tips on how to get them to give you some action? I'm starting to believe that just whipping it out on them doesn't work...

Re: OS Off Topic 2009
You cannot stop people from indulging in mind-altering substances. Prohibition of alcohol didn't work, and the prohibition of marijuana has not and will never work.
Punish an individual for a crime he or she commits against another person's life, liberty, or property. That's the entire role of government. Governments role is not to dictate how you live your life, or the choices you make. Once you violate someone's rights, the government steps in to provide justice, that is their role in society.
And if you are going to say humans shouldn't be free because they cannot be trusted, well then...
If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind?Comment

It's illegal to possess marijuana. You don't have to put it in your body to break the law. It's not illegal to possess food.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

He does possess that right.
It's not illegal to possess food.
Fat people should be exiled to the great states of the Dakotas and Montana, where they will be given 800 calories per day and encouraged to produce armaments during the day time. Each person's family may go if they desire.Last edited by Cebby; 01-06-2009, 08:56 PM.Comment

I loved the tech break between all the cop-bashing.
Anyway, I'm just trying to get over the last of my sickness. It's all the way down to where I barely cough, but my throat hurts and there's a decent amount of mucus in my chest.Rose City 'Til I Die
