Re: School seeks to forfeit 100-0 win

the losing school, Dallas Academy teaches kids with 'special needs'.

Which brings up the question, why are they even playing in a regular HS basketball league?

Also, in Texas (as far as I know, haven't been to a HS basketball games in years) there is no shot clock. So if they wanted, they could have just held the ball.

That's true for mens, but girls (at least here) have shot clocks to prevent the excessive passing that girls love.

Even then, if you're losing that bad and don't want feelings hurt, it's on you to forfeit.

Don't forfeit the game. Why penalize the winning team because they followed the instructions of their coach.

The question should be, does the Convenant or whatever their name is, fire their coach for poor sportsmanship?

Its on the coach. Teach good sportsmanship. I am not sure how you don't score a point. I don't think the Detroit Pistons could hold me and my 4 neighbors scoreless.

But thats beside the point, sports just aren't about winning and losing they are about team work, sportsmanship, commitment, etc. I think it all boils down to the winning coach having a small weiner. Anyone with a decent sized schlong would have called off the press at half time.

Its low to beat a school 100-0, But to beat a school for Special Needs children 100-0, well thats despicable.

The coach and AD should both be fired. You don't schedule real teams if your players are special.

i think the press was stupid. They should have slowed up the game, but a team not scoring a single basket is just horrible.

You're right. Especially if they only have 20 girls in it's high school. There is a school like that here in Tulsa, their girls play our jv and their boys play our freshman team.

BTW, looks like they messed up on this caption. Her jersey reads Dallas Academy.

You're right - how dare those "special" kids play against some competition and have fun and grow from it and play "real" teams.

They haven't won a game in 4 years.

I have a hard time believing the school they were playing had about 20 girls in the whole high school.

                              Here's their website, actually.

It says they are 2a. That means they probably have somewhere between 160-220 girls in their school. They obviously were not on the same level. They should've played Covenant's JV and called it a day.

If the kids are actually "special" (which I really doubt they are) then no, they should not schedule a team capable of winning 100-0, especially if they're going to cry about it later.

It's up to the losers to accept their defeat and beg for mercy.
