Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
There is only three things I'll drink from GLB
Christmas Ale, Conway's Irish Ale, and Russian Blackout Stout
As for Fatheads, I love their Bumbleberry. One of my favorite beers. But I prefer Rocky River Brewing Company's Blueberry Beer over it.Too Old To Game Club
Urban Meyer is lol.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
If you enjoy a Blue Moon, you should check out a Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier which is a very similar brew, just a million times better in every regard.
It shouldn't be too hard to track down, either. If you need help with the pronounciation (don't feel bad, I didn't know how to say it right for a few years!) it is pronounced: VEE-EHN-STEF-ON... (kind of like Gwen Stefani minus the G, plus a V at the beginning and drop the I at the end)
This is what it looks like:

It is the best "white" beer on earth IMO.Comment

Yeah, that's about as "entry level" as good beers go.

"Ei" in German is always pronounced as a long I, "st" is pronounced with an "sht" sound.
Weissbier is pretty easy, vice-beerComment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I've always been a cheap beer drinker, I've never really explored any beer if it is more expensive than Budweiser.
Last night I had a few Blue Moon Belgian Whites, and wow was it good. I think it is time I step my game up and start drinking better stuff.
So any recommendations for a guy that loves Blue Moon? I want a really good wheat beer, I think that is what made me enjoy Blue Moon so much. Thanks, I'm a newbie at this stuff lol.Comment

Always been a huge fan of the Brooklyn Pennant Ale and Summer Ale, first time I've ever seen this one and it was delicious. Has a great lemon/zesty flavor to it.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

I don't know where you're from but if you have a brewery nearby with a wide selection (like a Yardhouse perhaps, or a local Belgian Abbey-style place) that allows you to sample the beer first, I'd try different Belgians. One I'm a fan of that's somewhat along the lines of Blue Moon (although not really fruity and stronger, more of a caramel taste) is Tripel Karmeliet. If you're in California (not sure where else it might be found), I'd track down some Golden Chaos. Had some of that last summer and loved it, but don't think it's anywhere in Arizona. I usually alternate between the Karmeliet and St Bernardus Abt 12 (a darker Belgian, nothing like Blue Moon lol) at the Yardhouse here.
You also might like Purple Haze. I need to find the one 55 mentioned ASAP
Edit: According to the Total Wine site, the store right down the street from me has got the Weihenstaphieniner... I know where I'm going after workLast edited by bichettehappens; 02-24-2013, 04:18 PM.Comment
