Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread

The Victory Storm king stout was just too good to keep in the fridge for a whole week. Such a nice aroma from the beer, and a very hoppy beer for a russian stout. I was going to drink only one beer for the taste, but a couple beers later all I can say is, it just gets so much better with time and the more you drink. It is a very heavy beer, and I would definitely recommend it to people who like dark beer as this is an extremely dark stout.

Picked up a bottle of Southern Tier Mokah. Can't wait to try it.

Not a huge fan of them, Rather the Bluemoon instead. But not bad for sitting down and killing 12 of them, they are light enough.

Blue Moon or Honey Moon for me.

Same here. Would much rather have a blue moon.

Well, after four weeks of co-ed adult softball I'm convinced of one thing:

ALL AMERICAN BEERS TASTE DAMN NEAR THE SAME!!!

PBR = Coors Light = Bud Light = Miller Lite = Keystone Light = Busch = [insert ****ty American brew here]

Really, outside of Sam Adams, which is too expensive for softball consumption, all the "American Lager" style brews taste the same and frankly, they all suck. Plus, you have to drink more than one would like to even feel anything.

Heck, I was still seeing the ball fine in the fifth inning...that's NEVER supposed to happen in the scrub leagues, LOL.

That is the point of the American light beer. Mass consumption.

                    Agreed...but drinking the leftovers SUCKS!

And it's not just the light beers. Regular Bud, regular Coors, MGD, they all have a similar taste and as I said, it's a taste that my wannabe "sophisticated" palate just can't handle. Part of it could be that I had my fill in college and via Coors Lab, but still, the regular American beer is frankly piss in cup that takes three too many to get a buzz.

Two new brews tonight - Pyramid Apricot Ale and Abita Purple Haze. Neither was anything special, though I enjoyed the Apricot Ale more.

I enjoy the Pyramid Apricot, although not quite as much as Pyramid Heifenweizen.

One of my new favorites that will surely be my go to beer for the summer is Leinenkugels Summer Shandy. It's a delicious beer that is very much like lemonade. Goes down incredibly smooth and is just refreshing. A great beer for just sitting back and enjoying during a cook out or by the pool.

I think it might even be better than Leinenkugles Sunset Wheat, which I love.

I had some strawberry Abita last weekend. If you can somehow get, get it. It's very good.

Yeah, Summer Shandy is a solid summer beer. I'm still partial to the Sunset Wheat, though.

I think Leine's Honey Weiss is my favorite. Summer Shandy is just too sweet for me. It's crazy that I grew up 20 miles from their brewery in WI and now live in Mass. and get the stuff around the corner.
