Rogue Yellow Snow IPA is delicious as well. Comes out in the winter.

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
The g/f is picking up some Sam Adams Octoberfest for tomorrow night. She said no to Shipyard's Pumpkin Ale. Kind of pissed me off but that's another story.Twitter

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I really need to try the Leinenkugel Oktoberfest. I keep seeing it at Walmart, but grabbing something else.
Oh, and does anyone know where I can order Great Lakes Christmas Ale when it comes out? I've wanted to try it for so long, but none of our specialty beer stores around here carry it. Is it just a limited batch they produce every year?Comment

She just said no as in she was at the store and refused to buy it? What the hell? Who's forcing her to drink it?Comment

Obviously it's not an all encompassing listing but it's a start.Last edited by Mabster; 09-22-2011, 06:12 PM.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
Eh, i'm usually a big Shipyard supporter, being from Maine and all, but the Pumpkinhead is rather overrated IMO. I love me some pumpkin (especially pumpkin coffee), but the Pumpkinhead has an almost watered down flavor to it. It definitely hits you with the pumpkin flavor, but that's about all it has going for it.
She is drinking it with me. She isn't a fan of pumpkin ales.Twitter

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
With today being the first day of Fall, I was planning to pick up a sixer of this on my way home.
Speaking of coffee-flavored beers (which I love), when I was in State College for the Penn State/Alabama game, I had one of these on draft:

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I've got a tough decision to make. I picked up these three beauties on my way home. I've never had any of them and I'm only gonna drink one tonight.
They are all at brewed by Sierra Nevada but a couple have outside influences.
The first is their 30th Anniversary Brewers Reserve Grand Cru, a dry-hopped blend of oak-aged Bigfoot, Celebration, and classic Pale Ale.
The second is Life and Limb, a collaboration between S.N. & Dogfish Head.
The third is Ovila Dubbel, a collaboration between S.N. and monks at the Abbey of New Clairvaux.
What ever my choice, I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with this selection.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I had a Konig Pilsener or something, today with dinner. It looked like the Pilsner-Urquell bottle, but it was German.
Either way, that one was delicious!Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
Yesterday i had Founders Centennial IPA and Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin Ale. The latter was incredible and i'm really looking forward to getting another bottle this weekend. Little pricey (7 dollars for one of those pint sized bottles) but totally worth it, 9.0% ABV too. The IPA was good too, but i haven't found one yet that can replace Lauginitas Maximus IPA as my favorite.
My latest find has been the Sam Adams Latitude 48 IPA. The Wal-Mart around the block from my house sells it for 7 bucks a 6 pack, which is all of a dollar more than a 6 of Bud/Bud light. Not the best IPA, but you cant beat the price since most good 6 packs around here go for 11 or 12 dollars and up.Comment

I've heard a lot of good things about the Shipyard Pumpkin. I'm not sure if I can get it around here, though. Might have to get rsnomar05 to ship me some.Comment

There's a bar here in Memphis called The Flying Saucer. Usually it costs $5 to get in because they usually have a band playing, but If you pay $18 for a U.F.O. membership you can get in free for life and get a T-shirt.
With the membership it allows you to keep track of every beer that you taste. The Flying Saucer has 200 different kinds of beer. If you drink one glass of every kind of beer you get a personalized saucer on the wall and a free $100 bar tab, and a saucer release party.
Once you get the 1st saucer (which is a black color) you can repeat the process and upgrade to another color once completed again. There are 10 different levels which only 1 person has gotten to level 8. You can only have 3 different beers on the list per 24 hours though.
I'm currently on #72. Ive tasted some great beer that i wouldve never bought, and ive tasted some horrible beer that shouldn't be served to anyone.
Its really a great way to try new kinds of beer.
