I was thinking of buying some Sierra Nevada Celebration, as that's classified as an IPA as well and it's their Christmasy offering. Wish I could try it before buying a full six-pack though.

Really, that's weird. I don't think there is one supermarket in my area that doesn't do the "mix your own 6 pack." It's where they have single bottles of most of their beers and you can just pick and choose, and I know for a fact that one of the stores had the celebration ale in their make your own rack when I went to buy thanksgiving beer.

EDIT: I tried the Chocolate beer in the new sam adams seasonal and couldn't believe how much of a chocolate taste it had. I really liked it, but it was also during a poker game where I only wanted a couple beers, so I don't know if I could drink more than a couple.

Pliny the Elder is my favorite beer... god it's so good. I don't get it around these parts all that often either, but I always but it when I see it.

Best winter ale on the market just hit my local shelves...Great Divide's Hibernation Ale. If you like delicious beer and haven't tried it, get running to your local beverage market before it's gone.

Too much crazy spice action going on in that one for me (not a ginger or cinammon fan unfortunately). Sadly, GL does not distribute to my town any longer so my consumption is limited to my trips to Chicago. I miss my steady supply of Edmund Fitz.

                    Oh man...that really sucks.

I admit that sometimes Christmas Ale gets old...but it literally taste like Christmas to me.

Anyone tried the new Sam Adams Barrel Room Collection? I picked up the Stony Brook Red for myself for Christmas, and boy oh boy. Merry freakin Christmas to me. It shares a lot of similarities to champagne to be honest. VERY sweet. Gives off a very sour taste, almost grapefruit, with some cherry thrown in. It even seems to finish dry much like a champagne. One hell of a beer. Picked the 750ml bottle up for about $10 at a local beer place, along with a Sam Adams sensory glass. Highly recommended for a light tasting, yet dangerously drinkable beer (9%abv).

A co-worker introduced me to Blue Moon over Guinness. I've seen it called a number of different things. Can't quite remember what he called it. It was very good though:

^ I've known that as a black and blue.

This thread popping back up has reminded me of a joke that the owner of the place I get all my beer at told me last time I was in there.
