Honey Moon is out now. That is pretty good, but I'm a big Blue Moon fan. Has anybody tried Fat Tyre? I don't think its available in VA (or at least not the last time I checked).

I took some Blue Moon and Honey Moon from my parents house earlier this week since they never drink it and really only have it for when I am over there. I've been a fan of Blue Moon for a few years now but I cannot drink too many of them in one sitting. Gotta love Blue Moon with an orange though...and Dark Side of the Moon (Blue Moon and Guinness).

Haven't had Fat Tire in a while but it used to be a go to beer of mine. Pretty decent and packs quite a bit of flavor from what I remember. I've been slacking big time lately. It's been a month or two since I've gone out to go grab some six packs of good ol'craft brews or local beers. My gf and I are moving next month to a bar that has around 200 beers though (mostly on tap)...so I plan on being that guy who drinks every one of them so I get some form of recognition or whatever. I think it's a saucer on the ceiling.

Went to Stone Brewery today. Great place if you are ever in the San Diego area. Nice resturaunt, nice tasting area.

Had a Stone Pale, and a Stone IPA while I was here. Good stuff

I've also had a few varieties of the Chimay beers. I had their Blue Label yesterday. Good sipping beer, not overpowering flavor. 9% alc as well, so take it easy if you hit a few of those.

I was on a Stella kick for a while, but have moved away from it and started drinking Dos Equis Amber as my standard go to beer.

Was looking to pick up some Victory storm king stout, but the store was all sold out. So I picked up some Sierra Nevada stout for the the first time and am really enjoying it. It's definitely not an imperial stout, but it's very nice and smooth. If a friend wanted to try out a nice stout for the first time, I would def. recommend this because it smooth and sweet for a stout without being overly carbonated.

Had Anchor Steam out of San Francisco. I really liked it for a change of pace type beer. It's not normally a beer I'd drink (amber quality)...but it packs a lot of taste and I'll keep getting it every now and again.

I was on a Stella kick for a while, but have moved away from it and started drinking Dos Equis Amber as my standard go to beer.

Definitely can't go wrong with Dos Equis Amber (or Lager for that matter), especially now that it's summertime.

As far as the cheap Wal-Mart beers, grab yourself a pack of either Sam Adams Summer or Noble Pils or Leinenkugel Summer Shandy. The Shandy is probably my favorite summer beer. So refreshing.

Picked up a Rogue Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout and this beautiful Stone El Camino (Un)Real Black Ale brewed with fennel seed, Chia seed, and mission figs: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/147/57114

I'm thinking that I should have the El Camino with some fennel-rubbed pork or something. Sounds like a winner though.

The Wal-Mart about 10 minutes from my place sells Fat Tire. And also another brew of their called Skinny Dipping. I was surprised at the selection of quality beer at the Wal Mart here.



The best though is Bearden Beer Market. They get Dogfish Head. Had the 90 Minute IPA. It was decent, full of flavor. It was all I could do to drink 2 of them.

Anyone else have Latitude 41(could have the number wrong)? It's the new IPA from Sam Adams.

I know you can't buy a case of it and from my understanding, the only way you can get it is in the variety pack.

That part about it sucks but I love it, I have bought a few variety cases for the sole purpose of that beer.

It's Latitude 48 and it's a delicious beer. I only had it once but really enjoyed it.

Had Blue Moon Honey Moon and the Belgian White Ale. Pretty good, defintely different then anything I had ever tried. Not something I could down many of if I was wanting to have a crazy night. Good for just having 1 or 2 and relaxing. I need to try it with an orange slice like their website says.

Also tried Sam Adams Boston Lager. It got better for me as it got warmer which I thought was odd.

Beer giant (Coors) trying to get down with the microbrew crowd, producing a decent but not great wheat beer, which is the entry level micro-brew variety of choice for the widest swath of people because it's vastly drinkable and approachable. I think it tastes like water now after ruining my palate with the best traditional wheat beer around (Weihenstephaner) and all manner of enamel-burning hoppy IPAs, but it's certainly an upgrade over standard Coors/Bud/Miller.

But yeah, I was distressed to learn that Anheuser-Busch has acquired a majority interest on Hoegaarden and several other imports that I enjoyed. Bastards... I can't rightly support drinking those beers anymore because they had to stick their slimy claws into them. "Beer Wars" was pretty enlightening on exactly how many small breweries are being scooped up and either closed down without being repackaged (which is the reall bull****, like Rolling Rock being brewed with the rest of their scholck instead of in Latrobe, PA while still being advertized as such on the bottle) or simply bought out and incorporated into a larger brand without consumers really knowing.

So yeah, I'm sticking to my Dogfish Head, Stone, Russian River (Pliny the Elder <3<3<3<3<3 best beer evah), Great Divide, etc. and the independent imports.
