Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
Just last night my girl and I went to this classy British pub in town for dinner and a few pints on our anniversary. Needless to say, this place has a few dozen world class beers on tap that you cannot find anywhere else in a 100 mile radius. Any of the classic English/Irish stouts and much more, you name it. Anyway, we both are enjoying our Young's DCS (on tap!) and checking out the rest of the beer menu which is just massive when a party of about a dozen or so yuppies comes in and occupies the two tables next to us. They all sit down and start to look at this menu full of world class beer and proceed to order a round of Miller Lite for all! One of the guys at the table stopped and said, "Whoa, I'll pass on the Miller Lite myself." He then quickly scanned the beer menu and selected a Newcastle Brown on tap. I quickly turned to the server and said, "Put that Newcastle on my tab." The entire party of 12 (6 guys and 6 girls) looked in my direction in shock and I said to the guy who ordered the Newcastle, "I don't know how you can hang out with the rest of those clowns, but more power to you." He just laughed a little and nobody else said a damn word. My girl and I finished our beers, I paid the check (including the Newcastle) and we left.
I hate yuppies.Comment

Haven't heard of Moon Shots until watching that movie. Just went to their website and if your not on the East Coast it doesn't seem like you have a chance of drinking any. I would really like to give one a try.Comment

I like the good beer as well. But when I feel like a cheap beer, I like myself a Bud Light Lime. Newcastle is pretty tame for beers anywayGT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I love living in Colorado. Got a big bottle of the Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti Espresso Stout yesterday finally... they just bottled them a few weeks ago and I missed the release party at the tap house. Mmmm, can't wait to tear it up with a chocolate souffle or something.
Also, I might have a new favorite IPA.... it's damn close anyway. Russian River's "Pliny the Elder" was freaking amazing. It's fighting with the Dogfish 90-Minute for my affections. It's cheaper (big plus!), it's not quite as hoppy (both a plus and a minus), isn't quite as extreme ABV (again, plus and minuses), but the smell and initial flavor might be better. Thoroughly enjoyed that one -- I would've bought 2 or 3 of them but I got the last one... hopefully they just needed to stock the shelf, because I want to go get a few more.
Also picked up another bottle of Weihenstephaner (so cheap, only $2.99) and the Lagunitas Olde GnarlyWine, which I'm excited to try... been digging on barleywines lately.Last edited by Stumbleweed; 03-01-2010, 04:39 PM.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
They have the Chimay gift pack at a beer store near me for $16.99. Tempting..
Had some Duvel over the weekend. It was good, but I think the hype was so much that it would never live up to it.
Also had a Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. My friend recommended it and it was one of the best brown ale's I've had. Definitely trying it again.Twitter

How was Noble Pils? I've been meaning to try it out but I don't want to commit to a six-pack. Haven't seen it on tap anywhere either :-/
I had Delirium Tremens last week, it was freakin' awesome!Comment
