Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
Here are some pics that I kept forgetting to share with you guys..
Windmer Bros. "Cherry Oak Dopplebock" (7 out of 10):
Elysian Brewing "Avatar Jasmine IPA" (9 out of 10):
Dogfish Head "120-Minute IPA" (8.5 out of 10):
Avery Brewing "Hog Heaven Barleywine Style Ale" (8 out of 10):
Weihenstephaner (9 out of 10, best wheat beer I've had still):
Apparently the Weihenstephan Brewery (oldest in the world) and Jim Koch of Boston Brewing/Sam Adams fame are collaborating on some special beers soon. Koch said he wanted to bring some of his "extreme beer" mentality to the German brewery, which is uber-traditional... he wants to work within those limitations but produce a different result. Anyway, should be interesting to keep an eye on: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Boston....html?x=0&.v=9Last edited by Stumbleweed; 11-24-2009, 03:07 PM.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
AHHHHH, time for the winter beers. The past couple of days I've had Great Divide Hibernation and Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, both terrific beers. Just got a six pack of Bell's Christmas Ale.
My favorite STILL as of right now is Bell's Two Hearted Ale.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
do you tend to dig IPAs better? try Rogue Santas Private Reserve...it's got a nice hoppy finish w/ sweet malty caramel and nuts on the aroma & nice floral honey sweet hop bite. WELL balanced imo.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
Random beer note, Deschutes Hop Trip is a really nice beer. Had it at Old Chicago a few weeks ago with the Great Divide Hibernation Ale and had to order another one. Beautiful hops taste without a lot of bitterness, extremely drinkable -- I want to go pick some of this up and take to the Thanksgiving party tomorrow, I think even non-hop heads will love it.

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I don't particulary think SN Celebration is very hoppy, as compared to say a Dogfish Head 90 minute. Very good mixture of hops and malt, good finish.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
While in KY over Thanksgiving, picked up quite a stash:
Ommegang Adoration Ale
Rogue Yellow Snow IPA
Rogue XS IPA
Avery IPA
Avery Salvation
Great Lakes Christmas Ale
Great Divide Oak Aged IPA
Stone Double Bastard
Stone Arrogant Bastard
And a couple others I can't think of...Last edited by fishepa; 11-30-2009, 06:03 PM.Comment
