Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread

Had one on tap at a brewery in Clairmont, CA about a month and a half ago called Golden Chaos. Belgian-style, Might have been 8% or so. Quite liked it.

Also a couple great Belgians at The Back Abbey, Tripel Karmeliet (8.5%) and St. Bernardus (10%)... don't know why I was on a Belgian beer kick when I was there.

Had some blue moon harvest pumpkin ale. Ehhh, not even a hint of pumpkin but it was fairly smooth with some bitterness on the tail end.

Damn, that Pumking looks amazing. Southern Tier is my favorite brewery. Just had the Mokah last night infact, which was amazing. That, along with the Choklat and Creme Brulee are my favorite "dessert" style beers. And they pack a wallop as well at over or around 10% abv.

I'm gonna have to hunt down the Pumking. My spot never lets me down, so hopefully I can grab some this weekend.

I've never had a Southern Tier beer before. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to crack open the Pumking. Mokah is next on my list if I can find it.

Bought a six pack of this the other day and I could certainly taste the pumpkin in it but overall didnt really care for it. I really enjoy Blue Moon but the harvest pumpkin ale didnt do it for me.

I've noticed blue moons batches can be very different. I've had The summer ale and with one six pack I could really taste the orange peel and with another six pack weeks later no orange flavor at all. I guess that's to be expected though.

Don't typically drink beer, but since its Fall and football sense kind of getting that thirst. What's a good Fall that I would be able to find pretty easily?

I'm biased but my favorite fall/winter beer is Old Rasputin. Granted it is not for everyone and more a winter brew.

Samuel Adams Octoberfest is a pretty good fall beer. You can find it at any liquor store.
