Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I can't believe someone actually brought up my holy grail of quality lager. I was in Munich for a few days in 2006 and stopped at Augustinerbrau several times (much preferred it to the more touristy Hofbrau). I had many a Maß (litre-glass, pronounced "moss") of their Helles (lager) and Dunkels (dark). Also ran into it at a beer garden on the Swiss/German border in 2009. Impossible to find in North America. Dunno what it's like in the bottle, but Augustiner Helles on tap is the best lager I've ever had, bar none.Originally posted by Thrash13Dr. Jones was right in stating that. Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
Hey fellas, it's been a while!
I'm drinking on a McSorley's Irish Pale Ale, which is pretty damn good. Not my normal pale ale style, but it was new at my ghetto corner liquor store, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Nice dose of bitterness that will go well with the French braised chicken dish I made tonight.

I did about 3 hours of yard work yesterday and followed it up with a couple of Coronas. No shame in that.Comment

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
I'm not much into "special" beer (mainly because I'm poor lol). I remember I was offered some sort of Oatmeal Stout and couldn't even finish it. To this day it is the only beer I've ever been unable to choke down. I felt ashamed.
Anyway, was at a restaurant last week and the only beer available was Dos Equis Amber. I was pleasantly surprised, good stuff
Dos Equis Amber is actually classified as a lager, but it has the body and bouquet of a fine amber ale. It's something like a Newcastle Brown Ale mixed ...

Re: Another Great Tasting Beer Thread
Right now, I'm loving "Dos Perros" from Yazoo, a local brewery here in Nashville
