^I was just looking for a thread on liquor as i just made some gin using a home made gin kit i got for my birthday.

Made three types a spiced (seasonal botanicals) smoked (smoked botanicals) and an oaked which i used just the basic gin botanicals and then added an oak aging stick to add the oaky flavor. The first two are ready, the oaked has to sit a few days/week or so to get the flavor. Just poured the first glass of the Smoked and am really enjoying the flavor.

Wish tapatalk would cooperate so i could post pics of the process.

Had Ommegang's Valar Morghulis at a local bar today (actually helped kick the keg, which got me a half-pint of it for free ).

I'd drink that even without the Game of Thrones tie-in. It was pretty fantastic.

Went to PF Changs as I was craving sea bass. Saw this on the menu. Has some very fruity/floral notes with a sweet finish. More like a sweet white wine aftertaste. But we'll worth a try

          Goose Island Sofia Farmhouse Ale.

Off topic - you're in Maryland and went to PF Changs when you had a craving for sea bass?

I don't know if that means I need to try the sea bass at PF Changs but there's gotta be tons of great places serving it near you, right?

I'll have to check that Sofia out.

Was doing some Valentines Day Shopping at the Columbia Mall. But yes their oolong sea bass is really good. Especially for a chain joint.

Roasted then finished in an oolong tea broth with wilted spinach. Only dish I get there.

One of my favorite IPAs. My favorite sweetwater brew is the whiplash white IPA.

Awesome, thanks. I don't go much but always get the Mongolian beef. I'll have to try the sea bass.

So I was told my favorite beer at my favorite brewery was out of production until the fall. They were out at the Brewery's taproom already. I couldn't risk stores running out soon too...

Sure its been brought up already ITT, but I tried Terrapin Liquid Bliss (Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter) this weekend and it was fantastic. Normally not a porter fan, nor do I like any beer that has chocolate in the title, but this one was really good.

One of the bars here that brews their own made a coffee mint stout. I haven't seen that before. It tasted like a Thin Mint dipped in coffee - delicious.

I'll second that. Had a Liquid Bliss in a mixed six pack I grabbed a while ago, really good. Though I've yet to have a Terrapin brew that I didn't like.

I am going to try some of their others as well. Just found a craft beer store around the corner from my house, which could be a great thing........or a very bad thing (for my liver)

It's the equivalent of a kid walking through a candy store. If I had even less self control than I already lack, I'd spend waayyyyy too much money in those places. Make-your-own-6-pack is a beautiful thing.
