Speaking of brew dates. So I went to my local beer store yesterday and was dead set on grabbing a sixer of Stones Ruination 2.0 Double IPA. When I get settled at home in front the PC, I pour me one, this is when I saw this and was very upset

So what'd you do? That sucks. Never had that happen (beer on shelf after "best by" date).

Surprisingly it wasn't terrible by any means. Now don't get me wrong it had a stale bready yeast flavor and didn't have that IPA pop to it but it wasn't undrinkable by any means.

I felt like a session brew this week and went back to some old school roots, picked up a case of good ol fashion cans.

I am not a big budweiser guy but when I would go for session beers I used to always get mgd's. Now I am more likely to pick up a yuengling. Enjoy regardless

I don't ever drink regular ol main stream light beer. Now when I do drift into a cheaper mainstream beer, good ol Budweiser is the only one that has something resembling flavor.

I wish I could get my hands on yuengling but unfortunately, it hasn't been allowed down here. Louisiana politics with the local breweries such as Abita has prevented the distribution of some northern labels.

I don't ever drink regular ol main stream light beer. Now when I do drift into a cheaper mainstream beer, good ol Budweiser is the only one that has something resembling flavor.

I wish I could get my hands on yuengling but unfortunately, it hasn't been allowed down here. Louisiana politics with the local breweries such as Abita has prevented the distribution of some northern labels.

That sucks. Anytime you want to do a beer swap I am always open to it

Just a little heads up...the "enjoy by or best by" is NOT for us the consumer,but rather for the distributors to know when to pull from shelves...with the exception of Stone brewery,which has a 36 day shelf life. You'll know what I'm sayin,when ya crack open an IPA, & get nothin but a malty NASTY tasting beer with NO hops to speak of. BOTTLED ON DATE is what we need peeps. Spread the word.

Yuengling isn't distributed anywhere west of the Mississippi. It's something about not wanting to go nationwide and risk diminishing the product.

Tried this last night:

I like it. Hoppy, crisp, not too fruity. Would definitely buy it again. And it has a "packaged on date" right on the bottle, Motown.

I believe Ballast Point was bought out...fantastic beer, but too pricey, & they stop dating their beers. I need a DATE on the beer, or it's gonna set on the shelf...that's all there is to it. & WHOEVER came up w/ the JULIAN code needs their *** whooped

They did for .. Wait for it. A billion dollars. Insane.

Yuengling is nothing but a novelty but when going to main stream beer it's my preference.

It's brewed in Florida as well as PA so it's strange to me that they don't distribute it in LA.
