Where are your hands during the National Anthem?

Someone at a Baylor message board was making a big deal about the Missouri players standing with their hands behind their backs during the National Anthem and said it was very disrespectful that they didn't have their hands over their hearts.

So I was wondering, where are your hands while standing?

Mine are behind my back unless I was wearing a hat. In that case, I remove the hat and hold my hat and hand at my heart.

I always take my hat off, but if there is no place to put my beer I will stand with the beer in my hand and the other at my side.

Is that bad?

I never put my hand on my heart though, I just didnt think it was a necessary thing.

Mine are always behind my back. If I have a hat on sometimes I'll hold the hat in front of me and have my arms down the front opposite what they would be in the back..

Hope that makes sense. I've never been a fan of the hand/hat over heart. It has nothing to do with me being purposely disrespectful.

One hand over the heart. And i will bark at people or take their hats off if they dont. Very disrespectful.

Disrespectful at the people who leave their hats on and the people who don't put their hands over their hearts or just the people with hats on?

Mine are usually behind my back, but occasionally my hand will be over my heart.

I was taught only to put my hand over my heart during the Pledge of Allegiance. No one ever told me to do it during the National Anthem, but I see people do both and neither bothers me.

on my balls.... J/K, I mean really though, who made up these stupid little quirks about where your hands should be, I mean is there a rule/law on this or a handbook, just like we need to take our hats off, why leaving our hats on is disrespecting, how.

I would really like to know.
