My latest online dating fun: a great looking woman contacted me - we talked for about 20 minutes while she told me all about herself. Then she asked about me. As soon as I told her I'm a teacher she said "we're in different places in life. Good luck, bye." Talk about a kick in the groin! I never realized money is the number one thing they're looking for - time to get my head out of the sand. Sort of depressed today - sucks to have your life's work dismissed in an instant.

Money isn't the number one thing for everyone, maybe it was for her. Would you rather she placate you and then tell you its important to her later? I do find it odd she would end the call so abruptly after you mention your career (and rude really but i wasnt there, maybe it was the entirety of the conversation that brought her to that conclusion), so you're probably better off anyways. On to the next woman.

I'm not sure how you're approaching this, what online site you're using, what you're wanting (fun or a relationship) but you need to figure these things out, whats important to you, and fill out your profile accordingly. Be honest with it, and you're more likely to get matched with a more like minded person.

Dont be down if you get rejected. It happens, not everyone you go out on a date with or talk to will be a good match. It sucks if you really like the person and they dont feel the same way, but that happens. Take a break if you need to, refocus, and come back to it. Be more passive about dating if you get tired of the grind(a watched pot never boils).

Just remember that because a woman rejects you doesn't mean anything about you, it's about her. She may simply not want to date a teacher not because of your money, which is what you're assuming, but because she may have previously dated someone who was also a teacher and he kept really long hours or something and she just may associate being a teacher with something bad so she just decided to pass once she heard teacher.

We all tend to make things about ourselves but in reality her not wanting to date a teacher likely could be for any number of reasons so just keep that in mind.

I remember when I used to try to date and would get rejected I'd get very disheartened and take things so personally but when I learned to think differently about it, come at it from another angle, it really helped me to handle the scene better.

For example when a woman would reject me I'd think maybe I was too fat for her when maybe it had nothing to do with me being overweight, maybe it was because she liked latino guys and I'm white, or maybe she liked guys with mustaches and I'm clean shaven, etc etc.

The point I guess is we allow our own insecurities to make us more insecure but a lot of the time it's less about us and more about the other persons past experiences or preferences and we can't just make assumptions. It's best to keep that in mind when you have things happen like this.

I went on a date, must've been about a month back. It was fantastic. She was really cute, we talked for like 5 hours, it couldn't have gone better.



A couple days later, we're texting and I ask her about a second date. She ghosts me, stops replying completely. We haven't talked since.



Love is stupid, I'm gonna die alone.

She got back with here ex like most women do. They don't know what they want.

Seeing some of the recent troubles people have posted about I wanted to give a success story to let you know that it is possible.

I met a girl on okcupid a little over 2 years ago after struggling for years to find any girl who stuck for more than a month or two.

Our wedding is in 11 days.

Good to read success stories. My experiences are baffling, to say the least.

I went on a second date with a woman who said she was excited to see me again. Drove 100 miles to see her, fed her and watched a movie, and at the end of the night she said "Good to see you again." And bolted. Apparently she figured out I'm not her cup of tea. The rejection is building up so much there has got to be a win just around the corner.
