I never really was a big fan of the movie/dinner with the online ones cause you don't talk a lot during movies....

Agree with the advice to move it off the site when you can. Once I got to the end on eHarmony I'd email once or twice max and try to get a phone call. Then we'd talk, and if it was ok I'd set up a date. You don't know if you like someone until you meet. I've met awesome phone convo people who didn't click in person.

Also agree with dating someone you're attracted to. It's harsh, but I had a lot of options and quickly realized I was just wasting time/money going on dates with women I wasn't attracted to. It wasn't going to work, why waste both our time?

Yeah, I have never really liked a movie on the first couple of dates. Dating me requires an interview process where I find out past relationship issues, 401K investment status, and other important information that will determine whether or not I will continue dating someone . You just don't have the best opportunity to talk during a movie IMO.

I never talked about past relationship stuff. Honestly, I can make judgement calls no matter the topic of conversation.

I've had a couple of experiences where someone I was dating had just gotten out of a lengthy past relationship and ended up being something that affected things. Try to get all that out of the way the best way I can initially so I can avoid trainwreck girls who bounce from relationship to relationship. Doesn't always work, but try to mitigate that crap as much as I can.

If on the first date a girl won't show you her credit report and a doctors note clearing her of all STD's, then it's "on to the next one".

A gave a woman I met on one of the sites my number.
She texted me and said she was on the site checking out my profile.
Later I went on the site and checked hers out again.
She sent me a message asking why I was looking at her profile.

This is why I would prefer to meet someone through friends. I would like to think friends won't hook me up with someone crazy.

I can't think of anything less fun, on a 1st date, than discussing 401k investment status and past relationships. I do my best to make dates NOT seem like an interview.

Perhaps my sarcasm has been overlooked greatly..........It's not to those lengths, but it's an interview process for me even though it is very subtle.

I get your point...you need to see if a person aligns with your thoughts about things like that...otherwise it won't work....

I've had two dates so far by meeting women online. One was good; she was very nice and pretty, but her pics do not indicate her weight.

The other was a nightmare. We went to a restaurant and she was dropping f bombs left and right where everyone in there could hear. Rude, smoked, and generally obnoxious. I will do a better job screening potential dates in the future.

The main problem has been most of the women are from too far away. Once you get over 50 miles or so, it's just too much trouble. I've had some who are quality ladies who said they would be interested if not for the distance involved. The age range I'm talking to, typically 40s, want a serious boyfriend, and a long distance relationship that will take longer to evolve is not what they're looking for.
