Just talk on the phone, I know a lot of girls think it is important to her how a person talks before actually meeting them.

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
Why would you not give her your number?
Just plug in headphones so you can hear better. You get louder volume and have it coming through both ears, then just hold the phone like a microphone.Comment

Originally posted by Happy29Well the girl I have been talking to hasn't messaged me in a few days then tonight she sends me a message and says her little girl has been sick which I understand having kids myself, but she said she wants to give me a call tomorrow. What you guys think should I give her my number?
Edit and she said she loves talking on the phone and that is one thing I can not stand is talking on a phone.
I don't know. Too me, a phone call feels so...impersonal.
But, yeah, you should definitely give her your number though. You never know. This might be the one chick you might find worth talking on the phone with.Comment

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?
Talking on the phone gets you bonus points though, because I'm pretty sure most guys don't like to. Like Duke said, it is less personal than in person, but when you compare that to just texting/messaging like the majority of your competition does then if you can hold a conversation and make her laugh on the phone you just moved yourself above them.
It works well especially if it's when you first try to meet up with somewhere. It's a lot harder to say no talking to someone than texting. Plus if she beats around the bush then you know she isn't really interested so you don't waste your time.Fan of....

I feel like I know why (as I too can't stand talking on the phone for any period longer than a couple of minutes). Is it because you'd just rather talk in person?

You talk for a bit. Just get information across. Use it as an opportunity to set a face-to-face date rather than time for her to reveal her deepest secrets or know everything about you.
That's how I've done it. I ask the general how she's been. Ask about her day. And then go straight to talking about the first date. When she agrees on everything, you make it seem as if the mission has been accomplished. She likely won't mind. More likely she just wants to hear how you sound and speak.

Yeah you gotta eat it. I hate the phone too but many women find it important.

Opening a response with that in a thread about dating sent my mind straight to the gutter.

Came across an obviously fake profile last night, so I sent a message saying something like "Nice fake profile." Got a reply back today "Thank you for the very nice message. I would like to get to know you better."Comment
