Just gotta keep trying. But if the prospects look like they come out of a barren minor league system, it's tough.

I was just curious if your area has girls you find to be prospects. Picking up girls at the bar isn't everyone's thing, so don't even worry about it (if you were).
Online dating is a different animal. It has its...uh, stuff. Lots of weeding out you have to go through.
I know I went through hundreds of profiles before I picked someone to send a message to. And that was one side of the deal because they still needed to 1. Find me interesting/attractive and 2. Read my crap above all others.
I also don't think there's much chance to find a great woman online. You get lucky and find someone to marry but I bet you ask the guys who found wives on it and they will likely say she simply stood out from the rest. It's not like they had options of potential girlfriend/wife material.
Not saying they settled. Just saying they found that one person that actually matched them.
It can take a long while. A very long while.

Yeah, I am with you here. I have lots of "red flags" I keep track of, things you can notice in pictures as well as their profile, that I keep track of when deciding whether or not to hit them up or respond.
This is probably my last year using eHarmony. I have been paying for a long time now and I honestly think they have ran out of matches for me, lol. Probably not that extreme, but it has definitely slowed down and I just am not getting anywhere. Had a lot of luck when I first moved out to Denver, now zero. I will have to scroll thru this thread and see what sites guys recommend that are free. I need a better opening line. I've had a decent amount of success, nothing in the past 6 months though. Most of the girls I get to respond are not exactly my type looks wise. I don't mean to sound shallow but I'm kinda skinny so I don't like to have a girl that's a lot bigger than me.

I might have finally had some luck. The girl I'm seeing right now I have a great connection with. We've really hit it off, and this is probably the earliest I've ever been like "I could see myself being with this girl." The only downside is we will have to do the long distance thing since she'll be going to college an hour and a half away.
It was kind of strange though. I went months without any real connection or great girls, and then I found 3 or 4 good ones within about a week. The other girls were all attractive and cool, but this girl just separated herself with no effort.Fan of....
